Description

STAINLESS FORGED PILE PARTS FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates, in general, to the technique of stamping or sealing devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a stamping or stamping unit that includes a stacking feature to provide vertical stacking storage and handling of multiple stamped parts or stamps and ornaments for related stamping. The unit also includes an alignment feature for aligning the stamping unit relative to the receiving surface of the stamping.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] In recent years, printing has become increasingly sophisticated due to the complexity of the printing prints available, the use of multiple stamped pieces (i.e., the overlaying of several printing impressions) and the different types of inks. In general, the stamping devices consist of a stamped piece of rubber attached to a handle and / or opaque mounting plate, and a separate inking pad for applying ink to the stamp. It is common for an office or home to have different stamping devices, as well as one or more inking pads. These prior art configurations usually occupy significant space on the desk and are prone to be misplaced due to the small size of their components. Also, when making multiple prints by stamping, it is often difficult to accurately position the stamping device in relation to the surface on which the prints will be made. Some of these drawbacks have been considered by those skilled in the art. Specifically, U.S. Patent No. 3, 090, 304, filed March 21, 1963 by Sulkie discloses a stamping unit having a plurality of nested, cup-shaped elements (each with tapered sides), and a support base. "Cad" cup-shaped element also includes an inking cushion mounted on the underside of the cup and a rubber stamp that can be interchangeably mounted on the outer bottom of the cup. When the cup-shaped elements are nested one on top of the other, each of the rubber stamps is in contact with the inking pad of the lower cup. In the same way, U.S. Patent No. 2, 891, 472 published June 23, 1959 by Holzer also covers a nested stamping unit. As can be easily appreciated, however, the cup-shaped, nested Sulkie and Holzer configuration usually increases the height of the unit, thereby receiving a base support to increase its stability. In addition, these configurations do not include the features to facilitate the alignment of the stamp with the receiving surface. In this way, it is desirable to provide a stamping unit that can solve the problems associated with the prior art devices by providing more efficient storage and handling of the unit components, and facilitating the use of these devices without undesirably increasing their cost.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The stamping unit according to the present invention is designed to limit the overall dimensions of a unit with multiple stamps, and to make its use more convenient by facilitating the alignment of the stamping unit in relation to the surface on the which is going to make an impression by stamping. According to one aspect of the invention, the device is configured as a stamping unit having a base, a plurality of intermediate members and a cover, all of them stackable together. The base may include a cushion for inking and the cover is configured to substantially conform the palm of the user. Ona stamp is attached to the lower part of one of the respective intermediate members, and a representative image of the stamp is affixed to the upper surface of this member. According to another aspect of the invention, the base, each of the intermediate members, and the cover are substantially congruent. The unit can also build an interference fixture between the base, the intermediate members and the cover. According to another aspect of the invention, the unit includes the means for aligning it relative to a receiving surface of the printing of the stamp, the alignment means includes at least one opening formed through the upper part and the lower part of the member intermediate. Otherwise, it is possible to use transparent material to form the cover of intermediate members and the base. Other advantages of the present invention will be apparent from the detailed description that is provided below. However, it should be understood that the detailed description and specific embodiments are provided by way of illustration only, since, from this detailed description, various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will be apparent to the experts in The technique.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EXEMPLARY MODE The present invention relates to manual stamping units having a plurality of stamps that can be stacked to reduce the overall dimensions of the unit. More specifically, the present invention relates to stamping units commonly used in arts and crafts, which includes a stacking feature to provide vertical stackable storage and handling of multiple stamps and related stamping ornaments. However, it will be apparent from the following description that the stamping unit of the present invention may include fewer or more stamps, and that they may have a configuration different from that described herein, for application for uses other than those described above. describe below. However, to facilitate the understanding and convenience of the following description simply refer to the stamping unit illustrated in the drawings. However, those skilled in the art will readily recognize many other configurations and applications. With reference to the figures, a stamping unit according to the present invention, generally referred to as 10, includes a base 12, at least one intermediate member 14 and a cover 16. As illustrated in the figures, when the base 12 , the intermediate members 14 and the cover 16 are stacked together, forming a substantially congruent unit 10, that is, they are in substantial alignment when assembled. Likewise, the cover 16 is generally convex, configured to conveniently conform the palm of the user. The base 12 is preferably disk-shaped, includes a lower portion 18 and straight surrounding side walls 20 that extend to an upper edge 22. The lower portion 18 of the base 12 is substantially planar to support the embossing unit 10. in a straight position. The unit 10 also preferably includes a plurality of disc-shaped intermediate members 14, each being formed by a lower surface 24, and straight surrounding side walls 26 extending to an upper edge 28. The lowermost of the intermediate members 14 are it engages so that it can be released from the base 12. The unit 10 also includes a cover 16 having an upper part 30 and a lower part with the opposite side 32. The lower part 32 has a lower edge 34 substantially surrounding the cover 16, the lower edge 34 being releasably engageable with the upper edge 28 of a higher intermediate member 14. The unit 10 also includes a plurality of stamps 36, each stamp 36 advantageously having a foam backing 38 attached to the surface bottom 24 of the intermediate member 14. As shown in the figures, the height of the side walls 20 of the base 12 is greater than the thickness of the stamp-back combination 40. As a result, when the intermediate member 14 engages the 12, the combination 40 is completely received within the base 12. In the same way, the height of the side walls 26 of the intermediate members 14 is greater than the thickness of the stamp-backrest combination 40. As a result, when a upper intermediate member 14 engages with a lower intermediate member, the combination 40 is completely received within the lower intermediate member 14. Each intermediate member 14 is also preferably preferred. ncia includes an image 41 representative of the individual stamp 36 and fixed to the intermediate member 14 to allow the user to easily identify the desired intermediate member 14. Finally, the unit 10 may also include an inking pad 42 or other inking device arranged within the base 12 so that no separate device is required to use the stamp 10. The base 12, the intermediate members 14 and the cover 16 of the unit 10 are respectively connected so that they can be released by means of a coupling of friction adjustment. This friction fit can be provided by a tongue and groove configuration as more specifically shown in Figures 2-4. In particular, the upper edge 22 of the base 12 includes a tongue 44 cooperating with a groove 46 formed in the lowermost intermediate member 14. In the same manner, the upper edge 28 of the intermediate member 14 includes a tongue 48 cooperating with a groove 50 formed in the intermediate member 14 disposed immediately above. In the same way, the upper edge 28 of the intermediate member 14 includes a tongue 48 cooperating with a groove 50 formed in the intermediate member 14 disposed immediately above. In the same way, the tab 48 of the upper intermediate member 14 is releasably engaged to a groove 52 formed along the lower edge 34 of the cover 16. Those skilled in the art, however, will readily appreciate that the frictional fit between the cover, and the intermediate members and the base may be provided in other forms. For example, the tongue and groove arrangements may be reversed in certain cases, for example, the tabs being at the bottom of the intermediate members 14 and the cover, while the groove would be formed at the top of the intermediate members and base. Furthermore, the tabs and slots do not have to be formed along the perimeter of the base, cover and intermediate members, depending on the respective and desired degree of releasable coupling. Referring now more specifically to Figures 5-9, the unit 10 may also include the means for facilitating the alignment of the embossing unit 10 and hereby the embossing 36 with respect to the surface 54 on which it is to be made. the printing of the stamp 36. This alignment function can be performed by means of a plurality of generally designated openings 56 formed in the cover 16, the intermediate members 14 and the base 12. The openings 56 are in sufficient alignment for allowing the user to see the surface 54 through the unit 10. Otherwise, it is possible to use a substantially transparent, translucent or otherwise clear material to form the cover 16, the intermediate members 14 and the base 12.
It should be understood that the foregoing description is of a preferred exemplary embodiment of the present invention, and that the invention is not limited to the specific forms described. For example, unit 10 may take other forms and include a single intermediate member 14 or, conversely, more than the number shown. In addition, and as exemplified in the foregoing, the friction adjustment unit can be realized in other ways than those described. Finally, it must be recognized that depending on the way in which the stamps 36 are constructed, they can be directly attached to the intermediate members 14, that is, without using foam backing 38. Therefore, it should be understood that these and other Substitutions, modifications, changes and omissions may be made in the design and arrangement of the elements described herein without departing from the spirit of the appended claims.
