Description
HERMETIC ELECTRICAL CONNECTION DEVICE
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a hermetic electrical connection device, comprising a plug or similar device intended to be connected to a socket constituting the socket of an outlet or the mobile socket of an extension or a connector. It is known to provide an outlet socket provided with a crankcase which has an articulated and collapsible protection cover in the rest position. It is clear however that there is a place to generalize such a socket to other electrical connection systems, as mentioned hereinafter, such as a mobile socket of an electrical connector, provided to be coupled with the socket of the connector of which the organs of contact are generally similar to those of a plug or even such as a mobile socket of an extension, provided to be coupled with a plug. It is difficult to conceive hermetic devices of this type, susceptible in particular to support certain games or slack and tolerance between the pieces. This is because up to now, the airtightness obtained by means of annular flat gaskets provided to be applied to the front edge of the socket, is provided in the lid and, on the other hand, around a part of the plug. The present invention has the merit of restoring this principle and ensuring the airtightness by means of a single joint disposed, as opposed to the known technique, on the base and only on it, subsequently named in the present drawing for the reasons of generalization cited later in the present. However, among other poses in this case, it has already taken place to make a hermetic joint compatible with both the articulated movement of the lid and the translation movement of the plug. To achieve this object, an electrical connection device of the type mentioned at the beginning is proposed, which is particularly notable because the casing has on its front edge an annular groove designed to receive a part of an annular joint with a general hook-shaped section Inwardly curved, while the cover and / or the casing of the plug have support surfaces intended to be brought into contact with the joint in the closed position of the cover and respectively in the engaged position of the plug.
Advantageously, the bearing surfaces of the cover and the casing of the plug are provided to contact a reduced area of the curved part of the joint. For example and not necessarily, the bearing surface of the lid is frustoconical, while the bearing surface of the crankcase of the plug is cylindrical parallel to the longitudinal axis of the crankcase. Preferably, the annular groove has a rectangular section as well as an inner flange which protrudes from the curved part of the gasket and on which a corresponding part of the cover or respectively the casing of the plug passes in the closed position of the cover and respectively in the engaged position of the plug, while the outer wall of the annular groove has a longitudinal extension extending beyond the inner flange of the groove. In this case, for example and not necessarily, the extension of the outer wall of the annular groove is further enlarged from back to front in the longitudinal direction, over at least the greater part of its periphery. According to one embodiment, the seal has a peripheral rib provided on the outside face of its curved part, intended to rest on the inner wall of the throat, as well as a cut provided on the outer face and on the base of the throat. its curved part and its paw is beveled on its outer face. For reasons of maintaining the gasket and possibly for aesthetic reasons, the intake casing comprises a peripheral ring that covers at least part of its annular throat and of which the gasket receives the latter. The invention will be better understood by reading the following description of an embodiment given by way of example and referring to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a top view of a socket of the power outlet according to the invention, with its lid open. Figure 2 shows in axial section the crankcase of figure 1 of the socket outlet provided with its lid in the open position, as well as the crankcase of a plug taken in clamping, - figure 3 is an enlarged partial view of the figure 2, - figure 4 shows in section the two elements of figure 1 after the connection, - figure 5 is an enlarged part of figure 4,
- figure 6 shows in section the crankcase of figures 1 to 5 with its cover folded down, - figure 7 is an enlarged partial view of figure 6. In the drawings, it can be seen by way of example, the crankcase 1, more particularly an outlet socket and the crankcase 2 of a plug (figures 2 and 4) intended to be plugged in to connect to the socket. In the crankcase 2 of the plug, multiple contacts are provided in the form of hooks intended to be connected with the corresponding contacts, generally under pressure, provided in an insulating support arranged in the crankcase 1 of the socket (the contacts that are not part of the object of the patent are not represented, as other additional means). Due to the pressure exerted by the contacts and also exerted by a pin ejection system, a locking system is provided in position of the connection, in the form of a hook 3 intended to be brought into contact with a corresponding part of the connection. the plug (figure 4). The crankcase 1 of the base is provided in addition to a cover 4 (figures 1, 2, 4 and 6) which is articulated in five to the opposition of the hook 3. The cover 4 is also assembled in an articulated manner and can be locked in its position closed by hook 3. (Figure 6) already intended to lock the plug in its connection position, - as already mentioned. At the front end of the crankcase of the base a throat 6 is provided for receiving an annular gasket 7. As shown in the drawings, the throat 6 has a rectangular section with an inner flange 8 and an extension 9 of its outer wall which is it widens here from back to front (these references are mentioned only in the enlarged figures and in particular in figure 3, for reasons of clarity). The gasket 7 inserted in the groove 6 protrudes in the longitudinal direction in relation to the flange 8. As can also be seen, the section of the gasket 7 has a general curved hook shape towards the inside. Furthermore, as shown in the enlarged figures, and more particularly in FIG. 3, the seal has a rib 7 'which is applied to the extension 9 of the throat. For reasons of deformation of the joint and / or of the air to be trapped in the throat 6, under the rib 7 ', a cut 7"is provided while the joint foot has a chamfer 7"' (figure 3). The gasket 6 is further held in place by a bushing 14, which is engaged (for example by clamping) on the casing 1 and which partially covers the gasket and rests on it, as shown in the drawings. . By partially covering the joint, the sleeve 14 is also secured in the open position, a good appearance from the aesthetic point of view. As also shown in the drawings, the cover 4 and the casing 2 of the plug have support surfaces
and 11 on the gasket 7, which are terminated inward respectively by a tip 12 and a retaining wall 13, the surface 10 of the lid is frustoconical with inward convergence in the closed position and from back to front, while the surface
11 of the pin is cylindrical parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pin, ie in the clamping or coupling direction. However, the abutment surfaces 10 and 11 can be well understood, the two cylindrical or the two frusto-conical, even likewise respectively cylindrical and frusto-conical, as opposed to the illustrated embodiment. It is understood that the bearing surface 10 of the lid comes into contact with the gasket 7 and starts on the side of its articulation, while the surface 11 of the crankcase 2 is applied peripherally, at the same time on the entire inner surface of the body. 7. In the closed position of the cover or in the connection position of the plug, that is to say after locking by the hook 3, it can be seen that the bearing surfaces 10 and 11 of the cover and of the pins bear on the part curves towards the inside of the joint 7 that deforms when closing on itself, while the tip 12 of the lid and respectively the retaining wall 13 of the plug comes to the front (even in contact or near-contact) with the rim 8 of the crankcase of the socket. It is understood that the contact of the support surfaces cited above 10 and 11 with the joint 7 is effected substantially according to generatrices of the joint (indicated as C and C in figures 5 and 7), while the joint is in contact in several sites in the throat 6, as shown in figures 5 and 7 and more in particular by its rib 7 ', which thus ensures a good hermeticity. As stated hereinabove, the crankcase 1 may be the same as an outlet socket, but also as a movable socket provided to be connected to either a connector socket, either to an extension plug, of or The general expression used, as mentioned above, of taking, also generalizing the pin that can constitute the socket of a connector.
