Abstract

Un conmutador digital de servicio a un número de unidades terminales para conmutar el tráfico de señales entre las mismas, estando el tráfico dividido lógicamente en intervalos de tiempo de datos e intervalos de tiempo de control con paquetes de control. Comprende una memoria (10) de conmutación para recibir los intervalos de tiempo de datos, una memoria (12) de control que contienen la información para facilitar la conexión de los intervalos de tiempo de datos en la memoria de conmutación, una terminal (14) de memoria de control para recibir los intervalos de tiempo de control y los paquetes de control colocados en la misma, y la información de escritura en la memoria (12) de control, y para transmitir el reconocimiento de paquetes a las unidades llamadas o las unidades que llaman de las unidades-terminales, y una memoria (16) ocupada/desocupada que coopera con la terminal (14) de memoria de control y para almacenar el estado actual de cada una de las unidades terminales. Un sistema de fila de espera o cola está asociado con la terminal (14) de memoria de control y la memoria (16) ocupada/desocupada, incluyendo el sistema de fila de espera o cola un medio de memoria y un medio lógico de control para efectuar, en caso de que una primera unidad (4B) terminal trata de establecer conexión con una segunda unidad (4M) terminal, que está ocupada, colocar en fila de espera o cola solicitud de llamada y la transmisión en la primera unidad terminal de un reconocimiento de 'solicitud para la conexión en fila de espera' y al recibo de una solicitud para la desconexión desde la segunda unidad terminal, dirige la conexión de la primera unidad terminal a la segunda unidad terminal, y la transmisión de los reconocimientos a la primera y segunda unidades terminales con la información de 'conexión efectuada' y 'solicitud efectuada', respectivamente.
