Abstract

La codificación de audio basada en predicción lineal se mejora mediante la codificación de un espectro compuesto por una pluralidad de componentes espectrales usando una estimación de la distribución de probabilidades determinada por cada uno de la pluralidad de componentes espectrales a partir de la información sobre coeficientes de predicción lineal. En particular, la información sobre coeficientes de predicción lineal está disponible de todas maneras. En consecuencia, se la puede utilizar para determinar la estimación de la distribución de probabilidades tanto del lado de la codificación como de la decodificación. Esta última determinación puede ser implementada de manera informáticamente sencilla utilizando, por ejemplo, una parametrización apropiada para la estimación de la distribución de probabilidades en la pluralidad de componentes espectrales. En general, la eficiencia de codificación provista por la codificación por entropía es compatible con las estimaciones de la distribución de probabilidades obtenidas utilizando la selección del contexto, aunque su derivación es menos compleja. Por ejemplo, la derivación puede ser puramente analítica y/o no requerir información alguna sobre los atributos de las líneas espectrales cercanas como los valores espectrales antes codificados! decodificados de las líneas espectrales contiguas como ocurre en la selección del contexto espacial.
