Abstract

Recent developments in telecommunications through fiber optic systems present significant challenges in terms of hermeticity and resistance to environmental effects. In addition, the use of threadable elements in fiber optic cable connectors represents another problem because it causes a twisting effect on these elements. Furthermore, it is common to find connector assemblies on the market that are only compatible with connectors from the same manufacturer, which makes field installation difficult since it is not possible to find replacements or compatible parts. To solve these problems, a method is proposed to generate a plurality of hermetic seals in a fiber optic cable connector assembly that comply with at least one characteristic of a dust-proof hermeticity degree and protection against permanence under water, as well as an impact protection characteristic, and that allows great compatibility with fiber optic connectors existing on the market.
