Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una nueva cepa mutante de Clostridium acetobutylicum que comprende una actividad atenuada de glicerol quinasa; además, la presente invención se refiere a un consorcio de Clostridium que comprende al menos dicha cepa mutante, y al menos otra especie de Clostridia elegida entre C. sporogenes y C. sphenoides; como esta cepa modificada puede adaptarse para el crecimiento y la producción de 1,3-propanodiol en un medio de cultivo apropiado con alto contenido de glicerol, la invención también se refiere a un método para la producción de 1,3-propanodiol y ácido butírico, al cultivar al menos esta cepa mutante en un medio de cultivo apropiado.
