Abstract

Se proporciona un método para la fermentación anaeróbica de un sustrato gaseoso para formar un producto líquido, en el método comprendido: (a) introducir el sustrato gaseoso en un bio-reactor, el sustrato gaseoso comprendido al menos uno de los siguientes constituyentes: monóxido de carbono, dióxido de carbono e hidrógeno, (b) el bio-reactor comprendiendo un caldo de fermentación en el mismo, el caldo de fermentación conteniendo al menos dos tipos de microorganismos, un tipo comprendiendo al menos una especie de fermentación y el otro tipo comprendiendo al menos una especie competidora; (c) introducir al menos un tipo de ionóforo en el reactor, el ionófono teniendo selectividad para inhibir preferiblemente al menos una especie competidora del crecimiento y/o producción de un producto indeseado y (d) permitir al sustrato gaseoso fermentar mediante la exposición a al menos una especie de fermentación para producir el producto líquido y un sistema haciendo lo mismo.
