Abstract
The invention relates to a method for cutting material to be cut which is preferably designed as a rod-shaped element, comprising a receiving device for receiving the material to be cut in a fixed manner such that a part to be cut of the material protrudes beyond a receiving device body edge designed as a counter cutting edge (42) and comprising a cutting device with a cutter (24) which can be moved relative to the receiving device and a cutting edge (25) of which is moved past the counter cutting edge (42) in a cutting movement in order to carry out a separating cut. Ultrasound is applied to the material to be cut in order to produce vibrations during the cutting movement.
