Abstract

The present disclosure is related to the biomaterials manufacturing process for the skin wounds treatment. The composition of the invention contains a polymer that is obtained from chitosan, carboxymethyl chitosan; being presented in the form of a thin film, also water soluble, as well as providing the following properties to the invention: biocompatibility, exudates absorption and biodegradability; containing glycerol as a natural plasticizing agent and genipin as a polymeric crosslinker for the improvement of the biomaterial physical properties. In addition, a therapeutic amount of the Mimosa tenuiflora plant ethanolic extract is provided, acting as a promoter and an accelerator to heal skin superficial wounds, either chronic or acute, with possible tendency to bacterial infections. A process is also included for manufacturing a biodegradable film made of Carboxymethyl Chitosan and Mimosa tenuiflora Ethanolic extract, comprising the following stages: 1.1; 1.2; 1.3; 1.4; 1.5; 1.6; 1. 7; 1.8 as well as glycerol and genipin as secondary ingredients. Finally, the composite dressing described above, can be used for the promotion and repair of wounds, ulcers or skin burns.
