Abstract
La invención se relaciona con un método para autentificar automáticamente un documento que comprende una porción de etiqueta, que incluye las siguientes etapas: a) imprimir una etiqueta auténtica (101) que tiene elementos ópticamente variables; b) fotografía la etiqueta auténtica (101) para crear una primera imagen de referencia; c) calcular y registrar una impresión digital de referencia de la etiqueta; d) fotografiar una etiqueta (102) que se verificará secuencialmente bajo las primeras condiciones de iluminación, y bajo las segundas condiciones de iluminación esencialmente diferentes de las primeras condiciones de iluminación, para crear la primera y la segunda imagen de verificación, usando un aparato de formación de imagen (107) que tiene una unidad de comunicación (109), una unidad de memoria (113), y una unidad de cálculo (112): e) verificar el carácter ópticamente variable con base en la primera y en la segunda imagen de verificación y calcular una impresión digital de verificación de la etiqueta que se verificará; y f) comparar la impresión digital de verificación y la correspondiente impresión digital de referencia, calcular la distancia entre las dos dichas impresiones digitales, y comparar dicha distancia con relación a un umbral predeterminado.
