Abstract

Un medidor de servicio puede leerse al enviar una solicitud para leer el medidor desde una aplicación de lectura del medidor, la cual puede localizarse en un servidor de servicio o en un punto de acceso en una red, a un módulo de comunicación asociado con el medidor de servicio. El módulo de comunicación inicia una sesión con el medidor de servicio, realiza solicitudes de datos desde el medidor de servicio asociado, recibe las respuestas a las solicitudes de datos del medidor de servicio, y termina la sesión después de recibir todos los datos solicitados del medidor. Entonces da formato a las respuestas con los datos recibidos del medidor de servicio, y transmite la respuesta formateada a la aplicación de lectura del medidor.
