Abstract

La invencion se relaciona con la separacion de metales en residuos de lixiviacion de zinc que contienen Fe, en particular residuos de lixiviacion neutros y debilmente acidos. El proceso comprende los pasos de: preparar aglomerados que contienen, ademas del residuo de lixiviacion de Zn, al menos 5% en peso de carbono y de 2 a 10% en peso de S; evaporar los aglomerados en un lecho estatico a una temperatura superior a 12500 degree C, produciendo por lo tanto una fase que contiene Fe reducido y humos que contienen Zn; y extraer los humos que contienen Zn. El alto contenido de S de la alimentacion permite una temperatura de operacion relativamente alta sin produccion de fases fundidas. Esto garantiza una rapida reduccion y cinetica de evaporacion, y permite el uso de una tecnologia compacta como un horno de lecho estatico.
