Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para producir metales y aleaciones de metal, en particular fierro y aleaciones de fierro, a partir de óxidos de metal y/o minerales, tal como mineral de fierro, incluyendo minerales parcialmente reduccidos previamente y escorias que contienen óxidos de metales, en un recipiente de reducción de fundición o por fusión que contiene metal fundido dentro del cual se suministran los óxidos metálicos y/o minerales en forma finamente granulada y combustibles carbonosos y gases oxidantes, tal como oxígeno, aire y gases que contienen oxígeno, y opcionalmente agentes formadores de escoria, son adicionalmente dirigidos dentro del metal fundido por abajo y/o por arriba de las superficies del baño y los gases de desperdicio o de desecho formados en el recipiente son descargados a traves de una salida, procedimiento que está caracterizado porque se reduce la perdida del líquido y sólidos a traves de los gases de desperdicio de la salida, causando que los gases de desperdicio, gases oxidantes, líquido y sólidos en un espacio por arriba de la superficie del baño giren alrededor de un eje vertival del recipiente, con lo cual se forza líquido y sólidos hacia afuera hacia la pared del recipiente.
