Abstract
The invention relates to devices for palladium extraction from spent automotive catalysts based on ceramics or aluminum oxide, and also may be used in the processing of other palladium-containing wastes.The device includes:- a flow-type cylindrical diaphragm electrolytic cell (1) equipped with an auxiliary bath-dispenser (11) for obtaining a solution for the oxidative leaching;- a ball mill equipped with a cylindrical drum (16) with a peripheral drive, a supply feeder (14), a feeding pin (15) for feeding (with crushed catalyst and solution for leaching), a diaphragm (22), lifters (23) and a tapered pin for peripheral discharge of the formed suspension;- a continuous electroflotator (26) for the treatment of the discharged suspension from the drum.The electrodes of the electrolytic cell are made tubular and installed concentrically: the anode (8) in the center and the cathode (3) on the outside, separated by an inert diaphragm (4). As a result, the electrolytic cell contains respectively the central, cathode and anode chambers. The cathode chamber is equipped with electrolyte inlet (5) (preferably 5…10% sodium chloride solution) and catholyte outlet branch pipes (6). The anode chamber is provided with an electrolyte inlet branch pipe (7), and for the withdrawal of anolyte in the upper part of the anode are made openings (9) for its overflow into the central chamber, to the upper part of which is connected the bath-dispenser (11) (for hydrochloric acid), the lower part being equipped with a branch pipe (13) with a valve (12) for feeding the solution for leaching into the feeder (14).The electroflotator includes a funnel-shaped branch pipe (27) for the receipt of the suspension discharged from the drum, electrodes, a scraper device (30), a sludge drainage branch pipe (32) and a perforated pipeline (33) for the removal of clarified liquid containing dissolved palladium.The technical result consists in that the plant provides for the conduct of the palladium extraction process in a continuous mode, while it is facilitated the process of its dissolution by the combined action of the oxidative leaching and wet grinding, as a result of which along with the dispersion of the palladium layer, it is concomitantly removed the resin layer settled in the catalyst pores.
