Can we still get in the playoff at 10-2?

If we lose the game against USC do we still find a way into the playoff?

I think it's very possible we finish at the 11th or 12th spot.
Truth be told pending what happens in the top 12 this last weekend and after conference title games we very well could be back in the top 10.

If Texas loses to A&M then we are in the playoff guaranteed even if we lose to USC.

I think the only way we don't make the playoff at this point is getting embarrassed in the coliseum.
A victory we will finish as high as possible. #5
A close loss we will be around #10
Blowout loss we are not getting in.

Chase and the F+

He literally posted a thread the other day that this is the best Notre Dame team going by F+ since 2007
It very well might be the best Irish team and honestly if we were using a real passing QB and didn't piss the bed against NIU the media would have us ranked #1

Our running game, defense, etc...is better than anything in the top 5.

Our passing is where the wheels come off.

We are not a top 3 passing team. Not top5, 10, nor top 20.
We aren't in the top 50 for passing.

Chase and the F+

Chase hasn't posted the F+ in the past two weeks, and for good reason. It hasn't fit his narrative, and some of it will leave you scratching your head.

1. Ohio State (Lost to Oregon yet two spots above them. Dumb)
2. Texas
3. Oregon (wtf? should be #1)
4. Ole Miss - 3 losses (😂 LMAO)
5. Notre Dame (Chase's narrative blows up about ND)
6. Georgia - 2 losses at #6 (😂 crazy)
7. Alabama - 3 losses (😂 crazier)
8. PSU
9. Miami
10. Tennessee
11. Indiana
12. South Carolina - 3 losses (😂 craziest)

Is F+ The Onion version of college football ratings. 😂
NO...

F+Z-B/145 or whatever it's called is utter horseshit.

That ranking became the dumbest rating system ever when the final three rankings for the 2018 season were...
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Clemson

Clemson...won the national title...
obliterated Bama...who beat Georgia...

Moreover Georgia lost it's bowl game to Texas. That score was not indicative of the game. Texas DOMINATED that game and Georgia was lucky it was that close.

Yet they had the darlings...the trendy's, the flavor of the decade...the SEC lovies...ranked higher than the team clearly head and shoulders above the entire college football world.
It was even proven on the field which trumps all measurements.

Just not in the alphabet ranking system

I don’t read any content from chase ball. Same with 4-4-3, 88ND, and savvysassy.

That said, 409 is write, this place needs content no matter how disingenuous it is.

Go Irish.

Best Notre Dame team in the F+ era (since 2007)

I've been evaluating the football program with the F+ system since the early 2010s. This is the best Notre Dame team on record.

MF F+ by season:
2022: 22nd
2023: 8th
2024: 5th

Extend Marcus Freeman now!

NDs talent rank is 9th, but their F+ rank is 5th in the country. Amazing! FPI is even more bullish on the Irish and has them ranked 3rd in the country. Considering all the injuries to the players on the first team (including their best player/pro prospect coming into the season: BenMo) its just been a remarkable coaching job all around.

Any top tier recruit not considering ND at this point is a fool. MF and his coaching staff will develop you as good/if not better than anybody else in the country ESPECIALLY on defense!

Top 5
1. OSU, 2.39
2. Texas, 2.01
3. Oregon, 1.97
4. Ole Miss, 1.96
5. Notre Dame, 1.86

The fact that you're getting your information from a site called BCF TOYS should be all you need to know about the info.

CFP Top 25

This isn’t difficult… I think nd is better than psu but due to our nil loss if we played Penn states sos the metrics say we’d have 2 losses. A terrible loss and osu. Psu has no terrible losses. This isn’t hard to comprehend.

With that said, nd smokes usc and they should jump Penn state.
Should and does are totally different. I don't believe the cfp committee will see it your way.

CFP Top 25

We play USC.

So you mentioned 5 teams. None are any good. Illinois is solid. The others are just average

According to your own rankings we will have played 4 top 35 teams. So even your own point doesn't make sense

14. Texas Am
18. Louisville
21. USC
35. Army

Psu according to your rankings will have played 2 top 35 teams

1. OSU
21. USC

They are being propped up by Ohio State. They've won 1 top 35 game according to your own F+. We've won 4 top 35 according to F+. So either you believe in your rankings or you don't. Can't have it both ways

You mentioned West Virginia but you forgot that Georgia Tech is ranked higher than them

Where is Beach? Where is Mr. Positive?

What about Perse? I know he switched handles (I had to do the same, did not want to), but I know he was going through really rough health issues. Is he still around?
I’ve wondered the same. He developed multiple myeloma as I recall, and opted for a treatment that requires several weeks isolation in the hospital as your immune system is seriously compromised. He had a very difficult time of it, but came out doing well and participating here on a regular basis. Thought he might have reduced his posts such that I missed them, but sounds as though he has left. Hope not for health reasons.

PJ Fleck

Fleck is a solid coach but the bottom line is he's rarely if ever been mentioned for any of the big jobs that have come open in the last 5-6 years and there have been plenty. I think he's a perfect fit at Minnesota given their place in college football.
I think Fleck would be a good fit for LSU. He would recruit better and put life back in that program. Kelly is cooked. At the very least he could resurrect Purdue.
