Payment Processes

MSAC distributes the majority of our budget as grants to Maryland non-profit organizations, government entities, and artists, with additional spending on non-grant activities like paying grant panelists, program editors, and other service providers that help us support the arts sector.

The timelines linked below overview two types of MSAC payment processes: grants and non-grants. Though payments originate with MSAC, all State of Maryland payments are centralized and go through a process of checks and balances before being released. The timelines provide details on how the payment process works and help answer the question, “when will my payment arrive?” They also include answers to other frequently asked questions.

If you have additional questions after reviewing the timelines, click here to find contact information for MSAC’s staff.
