Abstract
Clinical signs or symptoms of arrhythmias are commonly reported in systemic sclerosis patients. These abnormalities may have various origins (primary heart involvement, pericardial disease, valvular regurgitation, pulmonary arterial hypertension) and may negatively affect the overall prognosis of the patients, especially ventricular arrhythmias. It is of paramount importance to identify patients at high risk for cardiac arrhythmias through a complete and precise cardiologic evaluation, find out the potential underlying heart disease. The complexity of the disease that includes vascular involvement, inflammation, auto-immunity and its systemic nature account for the specificity of therapeutic options in SSc patients (that may differ from that are recommended in other populations).
