About the Keck School

The Keck School of Medicine’s Office for Faculty Affairs helps professors with growth and guidance for their careers. It also supports department leaders in hiring, pay, and time off.

Human Resources provides staff (non-faculty; non-Keck Medical Center employees) with guidance and support for various HR functions including interpretation of USC policies and procedures, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, employee relations, Workday payroll support, leave benefits and other HR-related services.

The Office of Finance and Budget is responsible for being the main point of contact with the University Comptroller’s Office and the Office of Budget and Planning. It oversees the yearly budgeting process at the Keck School of Medicine and compiles financial reports for management, University departments, and external parties. Additionally, it serves as a helpful resource for understanding University financial policies and procedures, while also offering support to departments and staff for various financial and related matters.

The Office of Research Administration (ORA) at the Keck School of Medicine helps research faculty and their administrators succeed by staying compliant and taking full advantage of available resources throughout the research lifecycle. ORA manages grants and contracts, and ensures that research complies with University, Federal, State, and Private Sponsor policies.

The Department of Space Planning serves as the central point of contact for the coordination and management of research space planning, allocation of research space, research space renovations, and investigator/ staff relocations at the Keck School. Research centers are housed within the academic departments, research institutes with departmental status, or the office of research advancement. Some have a physical presence while others are virtual centers.
