If you are using columns for a browse view menu, if each section may commonly not have as many options as the total number of columns, this can make the layout quite wasteful if the option values are long and go onto multiple lines. Therefore, it would be useful if where there are fewer options than columns for a section, the values can expand to make use of the full width.
