kamal-proxy version upgrade not working (kamal proxy reboot) - multiple apps one server - SOLVED with comment #1192

i'm getting

 ERROR (RuntimeError): Exception while executing on host apps-01.de.allcrux.com: kamal-proxy version v0.8.1 is too old, run `kamal proxy reboot` in order to update to at least v0.8.2

however, the command does not upgrade to 0.8.2. instead it stays on 0.8.1.

NOTE: i'm running multiple apps on the same virtual server, this might be related?

SOLVED

i needed to upgrade my local kamal with gem update kamal, somewhat confusing though.

either kamal could resolve the kamal-proxy version more dynamically
or the instructions could include a hint to upgrade kamal

Updating the gem locally and then kamal proxy reboot did the trick for me.

I am running kamal 2.5.3 and having kamal proxy 0.8.4 on my server. running kamal proxy reboot does not upgrade the proxy although there is 0.8.7 available.

any ideas?
