In my professional past life, I was a writing teacher at the university level while I was in grad school earning my Master of Fine Arts (a terminal degree equivalent to an EdD or PhD) in Creative Writing, with an emphasis in poetry. I decided to make a career change a few years ago bridging the parallels between my writing skills in a more technical manner. Both poetry and coding are concerned with an economy of language. My career transition was aided greatly by my husband who is an Angular expert and currently works as a Senior Front-End Engineer at Amazon. I obtained my Associate in Applied Science in Web Development with Highest Distinction (earning a 4.0 GPA) in 2019 and graduated from The University of Arizona with a Technical Certificate in Full-Stack Web Development in 2020. My most recent experience was as a software engineer at Universal Plant Services (UPS) for nearly two years. During my time at UPS, I grew immensely. I worked on bug fixes, feature development, was the first in the company to write both end-to-end (e2e) and unit tests, and created and maintained the most amount of wikis at over a 100 that ranged from topics such as technological processes followed within the company to business requirements. In the meantime, I have been practicing my javascript skills and am looking to become more and more competent in the frontend. I am currently working on a personal project called hivehapp using Nx, Angular, and Angular Material. I am a home organization hobbyist and am happy to be utilizing my skills to create this home management app. I have also contributed to open source by way of editing technical documentation for my husbandβs ngx-errors library (which was endorsed by the Angular team on Twitter). |
