Welcome to the RPGLootFeed wiki!

A seemingly magical wooden chest with the lid half open has glowing contents inside

Thank you for checking out RPGLootFeed! Feel free to join the Discord to ask questions, report bugs, or just chat the author or other users. You can also report bugs or request features on the GitHub Issues page.

This wiki includes information about the various features of RPGLootFeed and how you can configure the addon to meet your needs.

Getting Started

Before using RPGLootFeed, you may want to learn a few quick things about the addon so you can properly configure it.

Installation

Download RPGLootFeed from your favorite addon distribution site (if I'm missing one, please let me know!), or directly from GitHub. Once you've downloaded the zip archive, RPGLootFeed can be installed like any other addon by extracting the zip file into your WoW addons folder, or by using an addon client like CurseForge, WowUp, etc. Reach out to me on Discord if you're having trouble installing addons and I will do my best to help you.

Recommended Additional AddOns

RPGLootFeed focuses on displaying your loot in a customizable way. With it, you no longer need your loot to show up in the default loot window. Speedy AutoLoot allows you to loot items faster and more efficiently by bypassing the default loot window when you have auto-loot enabled. It is highly recommended to use this addon, or another addon that bypasses the default loot window, in conjunction with RPGLootFeed for the smoothest experience.

If you'd like the game's default XP Gain text to stop showing in the middle of the screen for your leveling characters, you will need a combat text replacement addon. This text is not adjustable by addons without completely hiding all combat text on the screen using hidden or intentionally blank font faces. (I don't have a recommendation in this category, yet.)

Terminology - Anatomy of the Loot Feed(s)

A screenshot of 4 rows of RPGLootFeed with annotations on various elements of the rows.

The image above shows the various elements of a loot feed row. The following is a brief description of each element, from top left to bottom right:

  • Loot Item Icon: The icon of the item that was looted. This is clickable and will open the item tooltip.
  • Primary Row Text: The primary text of the row. This is usually the name of the item that was looted or the faction name for reputation gains. This also includes the "looted quantity" like "x5".
  • Secondary Row Text: The secondary text of the row. This is usually contextual information like vendor or auction house pricing information, tertiary stats and/or sockets on gear, progress to the next level/milestone, etc.
  • Item Count Text, etc.: Each feature will call this a slightly different term and will use this text differently. It will always be "after" the primary row text and any font sizes that impact the primary row text will also impact this text. For the Item Loot feature, this is the total number of items available to your character (inventory, bank, warband bank, etc.). For the Currency Loot feature, this is the total number of that currency you have. For the Experience Gains feature, this is your character's current level. For the Faction Reputation feature, this shows your current Major Faction rank. For the Profession Skill Gains feature, this is the "delta" for your skill changes (i.e. +1, +5, etc.) and will update if you gain skill again before the row disappears. This text is individually configurable for each feature.
