π Assistant Professor at NTU
πͺLeading Multimodal AI & Robotic Systems (MARS) Lab
I am an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), leading the Multimodal AI and Robotic Systems (MARS) Lab. My group studies Physical AI, focusing on how AI enables physical systemsβsuch as robotics, IoT, and industrial automationβto perceive, understand, and interact with the real world.
Much like human intelligence, AI evolves by continuously gaining and exchanging information with its environment. This drives our Physical AI research in:
- Multimodal Perception π€: Integrating vision, radar, and wireless sensing for real-world intelligence.
- Embodied AI π¦Ύ: AI-driven robotic perception, action learning, and adaptive control.
- AIoT & TinyML π‘: Building lightweight AI models for efficient edge computing.
- On-Device AI π§ : Exploring compact, real-time AI models for mobile and robotics applications.
π MM-Fi Dataset: A large-scale multimodal dataset for human perception.
π SenseFi Library: A benchmark suite for deep learning empowered WiFi CSI sensing in AIoT.
- π B.Eng. from SYSU (2016), Ph.D. from NTU (2020, Best Thesis Award, advised by Prof. Xie Lihua).
- π¬ Past Roles: Senior Research Engineer at BEARS, UC Berkeley (2021), Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at NTU (2021-2023).
- π Visiting Scientist at the University of Tokyo (2024) with Prof. Tatsuya Harada.
- π‘ Visiting Professor at Harvard University (2024) with Prof. Vijay Janapa Reddi.
- π Worldβs Top 2% Scientists (2022-present) β Stanford University.
- π₯ Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 (Class of 2024).
- π 1st Place Winner of 10+ International AI Competitions by both top-tier conferences and industries.
- π€ Invited Participation at Chinaβs 1st AI Talk Show βηη§ε§οΌε€©ζη¨εΊεβ.
