Helpful pointer

edit

You're free to display the userboxes you chose, but I happened to notice the contradiction that you on your user page, where you have a userbox that says you have "217 edits" and one that says you are ranked "#129" in number of edits on Wikipedia, and figured there was a typo in there somewhere. FYI, just throwing that out there. Sergecross73 msg me 03:28, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

(EDIT) Oops, I see you were referencing the "recent edits", not "all-time" edits". It's still doesn't match the wikipedia charts, but I see that by using the "recent edits", maybe that was correct at some point at least... (What I was getting at, is that you'd need 100,000+ edits to be ranked #129 on the all-time charts.) Sergecross73 msg me 03:33, 10 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Huh? -017Bluefield (talk) 20:06, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
I was looking at your userboxes, and they said that you had 217 edits, and that you were ranked #129 edits, and I was pointing it out to you because that doesn't seem likely to be true. Sergecross73 msg me 23:15, 12 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh... Well, which one should I fix? (And why are you talking to me all of a sudden?) -017Bluefield (talk) 04:17, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, probably both. I imagine you've made more than 217 edits by now. If you check your preferences tab, (just to the left of the "watchlist" tab) it'll shows how many edits you've made. To check how you rank in # of edits, just click on the link to that article on that respective userbox. (They only track the top 8,000 or 6,000 or something, so you may not necessarily be on there.) If you find yourself on there, then you can update your rank.
(Why am I talking to you? I was just wondering about Wikipedia at random, came across your profile, and noticed that you used many of the same userboxes I do, and since I'm used to looking up that information, noticed that your figures didn't really make sense. Just trying to help.) Sergecross73 msg me 17:59, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh. 8-I Well, uh...thanks. -017Bluefield (talk) 19:06, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Plot citations

edit

Hey, don't know if you saw my note at Nier (video game), but I thought I should talk to you directly. Common consensus is that while they're certainly nice, plot sections in video games (and other media) do not require explicit citations-even at the FA level-as they are implicitly sourced to the game itself. (recent discussion 1 and 2.) I do prefer to do it anyway if I can - see Bastion (video game) for the last game article I wrote, which has them, but I've been unable to find a transcript for Nier to put in game quotes. If you know of one point me to it and I'll add it to the article, but in any case adding "citation needed" tags is not helpful. --PresN 18:15, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

You can use Nier walkthrough videos on YouTube, as long as there's no commentary involved. -017Bluefield (talk) 23:10, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sources as concerning AC: Embers

edit

Greetings. By this edit you have requested to provide some sources on Assassin's Creed: Embers. I do understand that statements like «life is defined by the pain it brings and causes» need some sources, say, a critical analysis of Embers. However, things like «Sofia allows her to stay for the night» are just the plot of the movie, so that doesn't need to be sourced, does it? Cheers, --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 23:00, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ciations and tags

edit

Use proper edit summaries when making significant edits to articles per Help:Edit summary. Also, rather than adding tags without dates to the articles and leave bots to fix them, try being bold and add the citation for a piece of the article you find questionable. Not everything can be sourced through video game dialogues, and the amount of redundant references can become excessive. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 01:04, 2 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Outdated Dota 2 content

edit

Hey, you recently added a tag to the page Dota 2, indicating that some information may be outdated. Could you indicate where this might be true, so I may remedy it? DarthBotto talkcont 17:40, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand it completely myself, but I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies: for one, the article mentions tournaments for Dota 2 even though it also says that the games is upcoming for 2012 (a GDC March 2012 video with Gabe Newell mentioned D2's upcoming release). Plus, the official game site and the link to the Steam Workshop page for Dota 2 put me under the impression that it was already released. Nothing about the actual game release date is clearly defined, whether the game is already out or in Valve Time. The fact that I have no idea what really happened when is driving me crazy. The article's sense of time needs clearing up. -017Bluefield (talk) 18:09, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, it hasn't been fully released yet, but is in the testing phase, which has allowed for numerous tournaments and Steam features to be established so users can utilize it before its formal release. There hasn't been a defined complete, free-to-play release date named, but it's still being treated like an esport title. Nevertheless, I'll evaluate it and see if I can clear it up. DarthBotto talkcont 18:55, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah, the beta stage. Try to include the current status of the game, though, at the risk of sounding obvious. -017Bluefield (talk) 19:03, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Christine Love citation

edit

Okay, seriously. There's a citation at the end of the paragraph. It covers the entire paragraph. You don't need to go "Sentence 1.[1] Sentence 2.[1] Sentence 3.[1]". You can just have "Sentence 1. Sentence 2. Sentence 3.[1]". If your concern is that the citation does not cover everything stated in the paragraph, please say what, as it does in my eyes. The bit about research is after the question "Where do you find inspiration?" in the interview, and the bit about flowcharts is after "How would you describe your design process? Is it more or less the same for each of your games?".

In the future, if you have a problem with the way a citation is being used, just say what the problem is on the the talk page, rather than continually adding a citation needed tag without explaining what isn't cited. --PresN 06:46, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

OK. I'll try to keep that in mind. -017Bluefield (talk) 07:53, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hand-coding

edit

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@ wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:08, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi there,

I was just browsing your history and it looks like you almost never use comments for your edits, including a few with over 800 character differences. Comments help other editors know both what your intentions are, and that your intentions are good, and only take a few seconds. Moving forward, if you could try to remember to leave comments, even on seemingly trivial edits, it would help a lot. Thanks. PraetorianFury (talk) 22:34, 13 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

What's wrong with mdashes?

edit

I don't understand why you deleted the mdashes in this edit. Without dashes, the sentence is grammatically incorrect. I'd rather not get into a thing about it though, so could you help me understand what your concern is with having those mdash templates? PraetorianFury (talk) 23:29, 18 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'll try to put it like this:
  • {{mdash}}
    is 9 char. long
  • The dash char. itself is 1 char. long.
What I'm saying is that a medium-length dash should be written, not placed w/ a template 8 char. longer, thus wasting space. :/
-017Bluefield (talk) 05:02, 19 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia has effectively unlimited storage space. Character counts aren't really a concern until they disrupt client machines. I believe the mdash in this case is used to visually distinguish the dash from the hyphen and correctly denote a break in the flow of the sentence, an emphatic parenthetical. We use Wikimarkup (templates) as a substitute for the relevant HTML which would handle the formatting and displaying of the correct character. PraetorianFury (talk) 15:25, 19 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. My bad. -017Bluefield (talk) 15:28, 19 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Category:Urban legends in video games

edit

Hi, I have a question about this category you recently created. It seems to be a category which follows the pattern set by Category:Films based on urban legends and Category:Television series about urban legends. However, both of those categories are for media which are based on "real" urban legend, by which I mean urban legends that are talked about and exist (as legends) in real life. This does not seem to be the case for the category you created, so I'm confused. What exactly are the criteria for inclusion in the Category:Urban legends in video games category? Axem Titanium (talk) 05:01, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, in a given media, a character has to pass the urban legend to another character. Also, the curse has to be true, as the viewer or player finds out.
Sorry if I caused any confusion, or worse. —017Bluefield (talk) 22:08, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
I see, so it appears this category is used for "fictional" urban legends in video games (a thematic category), rather than "real" urban legends depicted in video games (a descriptive category, which matches the rest of the category tree). Do you have any ideas about how to rename it to clarify this? Axem Titanium (talk) 17:00, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. Fictional urban legends in video games, or something along those lines. But I don't know how to do that, technically. This isn't Wikia. -017Bluefield (talk) 19:28, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well there's WP:Categories for discussion (note: this is not "Categories for Deletion"). I can list it for you if you need help. Axem Titanium (talk) 20:09, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Category moves

edit

Please do not manually transfer articles from one category to another when a move is proposed at WP:CFDS. Proposed moves need to wait 48 hours to allow for any objections, and will then be processed by a bot if there are no objections. Thank you for uploading File:Fatal Frame III (Zero 3) - Thread of Destiny.jpg. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

Clarification request at "Princess Mononoke" article

edit

Hello.

I am here in response to your clarification request in Princess Mononoke article. (If you need a refresher, you check your edit on 18 March 2013.) What exactly do you want clarified?

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 15:29, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, how exactly did San get cured of the curse? The marks started appearing on her body when offering up the head, remember? -017Bluefield (talk) 16:10, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I have the film in front of me now. When Okkotto was infected, those worm-like thing went into San as well, cursing her; but San did not get any scorch marks before offering the head. When they returned the head, however, dripping liquid scorched their skins. Then, the forest spirit collapsed on them, healing both curse and (to a great extent) scorch marks.
Still, the article as I see it says nothing about scorch marks. So my last paragraph would become: When Okkotto was infected, those worm-like thing went into San as well, cursing her. When they returned the head, the forest spirit collapsed on them healing the curse.
Currently, the article says "Restored, the Forest Spirit falls into the lake, healing the land, and cures Ashitaka and San of the curse." So, what needs clarified here? Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 16:30, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Basically, how did she get cursed before this point in the movie? -017Bluefield (talk) 16:33, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, the worm-like lifeform engulfed her when she was near Okkotto. That's how Ashitaka got cursed too. (See File:Mononoke hime cgi.png) Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 16:38, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
The corruption? That's right. I already pointed that out in the article. -017Bluefield (talk) 16:46, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Is that what the "corruption" means? I always wondered. If that is true, one sentence in the article is wrong: It reads "Okkoto is corrupted by a gunshot wound" but it isn't so. Okkoto was bleeding from several gunshots and spear wounds, but at 1:42:59, a group of Jigo's men wearing boar skins managed to close in and do something to him. He says "I burn! The flame's growing inside of [sic] me!" while the "corruption" (the worm-like evil things) engulf him. And the film mentions that corruptions comes from poison. (Jigo's men use poisoned darts instead of rifles.) Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 17:39, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
No, corruption comes from intense hatred burning inside someone. For god/animal beings, falling to this hatred causes it to manifest into the "worm-like" form that consumed/permeated Nago and Okotto.
As for Okotto, his hatred for the humans and his "ignored" cries to the Forest Spirit contributed to his corruption. At least, that's the best I can word it. -017Bluefield (talk) 20:15, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well, these definitions are miles away from the English meaning of the word "corruption". Anyway, as they say, "the base is all yours". Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 17:07, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Uh, all right. —017Bluefield (talk) 23:00, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

Take heed while adding categories to pages, because many don't have a practical application, such as designating video games as encompassing fictional wars. More to the point, take a look at the current categories on pages and see what they themselves are sub-categories to. For example, you added a real-time strategy category to Dota 2, while that category is inherently present as the MOBA category is a sub-category for action role-playing games and real-time strategy games. I've never seen a Japanese character like this (ゐ, wi) before. Are you sure? -017Bluefield (talk) 00:55, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it's an old-fashioned kana that isn't used much, but as I understand it Tsuki Amano decided to use it in the title because she didn't want to use the character 紅 (which had already been used for another song), and because "kurenai" written with the usual hiragana can have a different meaning. The same spelling is used in the announcement about the song on her blog and this Famitsu interview, for more easily-verified sources, but I can provide album/guidebook scans as well if necessary.--Spiralette (talk) 14:12, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Oh, that makes sense. Thanks of the info. -017Bluefield (talk) 20:01, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Isaac Clarke

edit

Hi Player017,

You recently undid my redirect on Isaac Clarke. In your edit summary you said you weren't done with the article, but I wonder what you might be adding to it. Wikipedia doesn't work with deadlines, but I don't think it passes WP:N right now. The article just mentions the events of Dead Space, and from what I understand, you plan on adding the stories of its sequels also. A small bit on the story is fine, but I think that the plot section of their respective articles already cover them sufficiently.

And what I understand is that the character of Clarke isn't particularly noteworthy: I've been googling to see if there is anything substantial to be add to the article, but it's been rather hard. Developer Visceral Games' official website redirects to EA's Dead Space 3 page. No articles on its development or reception or anything as far as I can tell... Giant Bomb mentions his cameos and that's pretty much it. Oh, a website called artificialfun.com does have an article on him why he should've stayed mute.

In the mean time I did redirect Isaac clarke [sic] and Isaac Clarke (character) to the correct article. I hope you can find sources to put some body to the article. Thanks, and happy editing. --Soetermans. T / C 11:22, 7 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Player017,
I'm a little annoyed that you didn't take the time to answer me. It's been three days since I left you that message, a small word would've been the civil thing to do, especially considering that I've been patient and that I do assume good faith. In those three days, the article has seen a precise 50 revisions, two by bots and one by Mika1h adding categories, 47 were on your account. I expressed my concern that the article won't pass WP:N in its previous state, and it still doesn't. Like I said, "A small bit on the story is fine, but I think that the plot section of their respective articles already cover them sufficiently", but instead you choose to ignore my advice. The plot description is all there is to it.
The only bit in Isaac Clarke#Conception and development, the character development section, is already mentioned here Dead Space (video game)#Gameplay, while Isaac Clarke#Character reception is still empty. I suggest you start working there, because that's what would make this article notable. Right now, there isn't even anything to merge. If you can't find any sources, just make redirect. Not WP:EVERYTHING deserves its own article, you know. Oh, and actually communicating is always appreciated. --Soetermans. T / C 08:50, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that. :( I try to work on that ASAP. —017Bluefield (talk) 13:54, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your reply! :) As a Wikipedian I want to see this encyclopedia in its best state possible, hopefully with an Isaac Clarke article. --Soetermans. T / C 17:55, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi Player017, it has been a while. How is the article coming along? Do you still plan on adding more information about the character and such? Because right now it still only repeats the plots of the games... I hate to be that guy, but if it doesn't improve, shouldn't we just merge it back? --Soetermans. T / C 09:14, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hey. Yeah, progress has been slow lately. I might have an idea, though: if we do have to turn the article back into a redirect, we could save the article as a comment. If not, I'll just put it into an article draft space. —017Bluefield (talk) 03:11, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nanashi II

Hi Player017,

Just to inform you my username "Nanashi II" (lit, Nameless) is not really a reference to a PSP known as Nanashi no Game. I chose the username because I'm more of the mysterious type of person. Your use of categories

edit

Hi, I just spent a couple minutes removing Category:Fictional wars from a few video game articles with the rationale "a fictional war occurs in this work, but the work itself is not a fictional war". Please be mindful of this distinction when adding categories of this nature to articles on works. For example, it makes sense to put Time War (Doctor Who) and World War III into this category because the articles themselves are about the fictional war, but it doesn't make sense to tag Final Fantasy XII, just because a fictional war happened in it. This would also apply to a number of other categories of this type ("Fictional X" or "X in fiction") where you need to be careful of which type of article to use the category on (like work, character, fictional concept, group, etc.) Does this make sense? Axem Titanium (talk) 17:02, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I do. But since what you're saying (well, typing, technically) is true, what I'd like to understand is: which category goes into the other? —017Bluefield (talk) 19:57, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Uhhh, which other are you referring to? Axem Titanium (talk) 04:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
In general, does "Fictional [_]" go into "[_] in fiction", or is it the other way around? —017Bluefield (talk) 13:29, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Looking at the prior usage of Category:Wars in fiction, it's actually a supercategory of real wars that appear in fictional works, e.g. World War II in Saving Private Ryan. This category itself should not contain any articles, just its subcategories. Once again, it's not appropriate to tag works of fiction with this category. As to your question, both "Fictional X" and "X in fiction" should only appear on articles of type X. For example, you should only categorize an article about a fictional war with Category:Fictional wars; you should not put the work that the war appears in into the category. Article Feedback Tool update

edit

Hey Player017. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:41, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Bf logo.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Bf logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Replaceable fair use File:Hyung-tae Kim.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Hyung-tae Kim.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. howcheng {chat} 21:47, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Dischan Media - Dysfunctional Systems Ep1 - OST Cover.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Dischan Media - Dysfunctional Systems Ep1 - OST Cover.jpg. Proposed deletion of Sepia Tears ~midwinter's reprise~

edit

The article Sepia Tears ~midwinter's reprise~ has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Replaceable fair use File:Mark Fischbach.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mark Fischbach.jpg.

Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 02:23, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

So what do you think of my work on Infamous Second Son so far? Would you like to have a go at working on it with me? I'm hoping to get it to a Good Article Nomination by July. CR4ZE (tc) 10:55, 5 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well, I've technically been working on it already, but all right. After all, there's still some things there that we need to work on. —017Bluefield (talk) 23:16, 5 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
There were enormous chunks of information missing when I came to work on it. I'd say that right now the DLC plot should be culled and the Marketing and release expanded out. I'm getting through the Development and Reception sections, but there's still a big pool of sources that haven't been used yet. Would you like to have a try at the Marketing section? CR4ZE (tc) 07:14, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'd better not; I'm better with editing the story section than anything else, I'm afraid. :(

Even more of a reason to step out of your comfort zone, no? CR4ZE (tc) 09:21, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I wish that were the case. I can still do the Gameplay, Story, and DLC sections—compared to everything else, I won't end up butchering those. —017Bluefield (talk) 20:15, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Mind: Path to Thalamus

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Mind: Path to Thalamus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jersey92 (talk) 03:51, 9 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Cradle Song (visual novel)

Hello, Player017. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Cradle Song (visual novel)".

Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Cradle Song (visual novel)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". P.T.

edit

Hi Player017. :) Your edit to P.T. asked about the "or" part of "If she catches the player character, the player will experience a jump scare or be sent to the beginning of the current loop." Being caught by Lisa seems to be the requirement for advancing to the next loop in one case, but generally is not a good thing. That's why I wrote "or". Does this work, or can you think of something to better convey this? Rapunzel-bellflower (talk) 16:47, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

That sentence doesn't make sense because it doesn't reflect how Lisa operates in the game. In P.T., when Lisa catches the player character, she kills them in the resulting jumpscare, which then sends them back into the concrete room. There is no "or" about what happens when Lisa catches the player. Now, the player does not actually have to be caught by Lisa; the player can still leave the so-called "Gouge it out" loop without suffering the jumpscare. However, the sentence you pointed out makes it seem as though the jumpscare may or may not do anything, as thought we don't know what it does. As far as I can tell, that is false. The Lisa-catches-protagonist jumpscare has one outcome: Lisa kills protagonist, protagonist wakes up in concrete room again, protagonist replays current loop. —017Bluefield (talk) 05:53, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Thank you for your reply. Best wishes, Rapunzel-bellflower (talk) 16:06, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Themes and analysis (P.T.)

Since a template like the ones you placed infringes on a GA nomination. I was just wondering what issues you feel need to be addressed and/or rewritten on the themes and analysis section? Thank you. Jhenderson 777 15:30, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

To answer your question, here's an example from the "Themes and analysis" section:
This is directly from the section, not a quote from an outside source. Make of that what you will. All I know is, this is probably not the quality of a Good Article.
017Bluefield (talk) 18:56, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
You mean "they are here" and "them"? They are actual quotes translated from the radio in the game. Here's the full quote translated:

Jhenderson 777 19:09, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

No, that's not what I meant. The quote I pulled from the section itself—not the game—should be one sentence. Instead, there are two incomplete sentences. —017Bluefield (talk) 19:22, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
I see. No matter. I just reworded that part anyway. I hope it's an improvement? I wouldn't think that's all what's wrong with the section for you to put a tag implying the entire section needs to be rewritten? So I will be glad to hear what else is wrong with the section. I am being prepped for reviews anyway. Thanks for noticing. :) Jhenderson 777 19:31, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ren’Py Logo 6-13-6 200x307px.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ren’Py Logo 6-13-6 200x307px.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. I appreciate that you added the dates for Episode 5, but some of the other things you added - like a like of character names with no information attached to them - aren't very useful, objectively speaking. There already was a setting and characters section; it didn't need replacing with something bare-bones. Sorry.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 17:03, 29 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
