ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:14, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Deletion discussion notice
editHi there. Last year you participated in a deletion discussion for Lisa Winning. After being deleted last year, the article has been newly recreated. I have re-nominated it for deletion and am notifying all participants in the prior deletion discussion. You can find the new discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lisa Winning (2nd nomination). Thank you! Dclemens1971 (talk) 21:58, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Tom Flood
editLibstar, I draw your attention to this article. I believe you may be the last substantive editor apart from myself to have contributed to the article.
The article was written by Percy Middlemiss in 2008. It was well out of date so I updated it last January. Certain editors have incorrectly claimed I have a CoI on this article (I was the landlady of his brother for a short period, but have no connection whatsoever to the subject). It never occurred to me that this would be used as an excuse to delete the article, otherwise I would not have bothered to make changes. This will certainly happen in 7 days unless some editor saves it. If I do it myself I may once again be accused of a CoI.
I dont know if you have noticed but there is an extreme shortage of editors. So I am requesting that you save the article.
Tom Flood won all of Australia's major literary awards with his novel Oceana Fine, so he is extremely notable.

- Background is here [1].
- Some very serious concerns have been raised re: the editing patterns of 2 accounts (including the user directly above). I would very strongly advise against being canvassed to act as a proxy for a user who is almost certainly going to be site blocked in the near future. Axad12 (talk) 11:01, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
PROD notifications
editHello, LibStar,
I was reviewing today's Proposed deletions and came across Yuanjun Liu. I noticed that even though you tagged the article for a PROD with Twinkle, you didn't post a notification to the article creator on their User talk page. I've noticed this omission occurring with other articles that you have recently PROD'd although in the past you always took care of this step. Notificaions are part of the deletion process and this is espececially important with Proposed deletions as the content creator might be able to address the reasons why the article was tagged for proposed deletion. We used to have Fastily Bot that would take care of these lapses on the part of editors tagging articles and files but now that Fastily has retired, the bot is non-operational and it remains the tagger's responsibility to take care these notices.
Please check your Twinkle Preferences and make sure that the "Notify page creator" box is checked off for all types of page deletion. And when you are tagging an article with Twinkle for CSD, PROD or AFD/RFD/CFD/etc., do not uncheck the notification box before hitting submit. You tag a lot of articles for deletion and so your behavior has a bigger impact than an editor who might just tag one or two articles a year. Please make sure in the future than you post these necessary notifications. Many thanks for all of your contributions to the project! Liz Read! Talk! 18:56, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
