ROCOR
editThanks for clarifying the date of separation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. To me, the original article suggested that this separation took place in 1917. My apologies for introducing an apparently incorrect sentence in the article. Ucucha 20:13, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

I, Smee, hereby award you with The 50 DYK Medal, for your over 50 contributions to the Wikipedia:Did you know? section as featured on the Main Page. Your work is appreciated. Thank you. Yours, Smee 04:34, 24 May 2007 (UTC) |
BS-header
editCan you let me know an example or two where you saw the error? I think the template needs to be completely updated and merged with similar templates like UK-rail-header, but this will be a huge task looking at the number of pages that transclude both of these templates at the minute. johnwalton (talk) 15:07, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

editUEFA Incident
editHey, i noticed you commented on my Merge and redirect vote for this. I did not mean news must be heard about in England for it to be important, i mean it should be bigger than just in Sweden and Denmark. Sorry if it seemed that way. Jack Milne – 12:09, June 6 2007 (Talk — Contributions)
- "But, isn't it big news in Northern Ireland? I understand they'll lose their top position should 3-0 hold. :D Camptown 11:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)"
- I'm sure football fans there have talked about it, but don't you think it would be better merged to a different article? There are many appropriate articles this could be moved to. Jack Milne 12:22, June 6 2007 (UTC) (Talk — Contributions)
"I think you have a good point, yet I side with those who think we should, at least, wait a couple of days. UEFA's decision is comming up, and the Danish authorities are preparing legal charges against the perpetrator and - as I understand - the Danish footballer. UEFA is also considering downgrading the Danish national football stadium. But, for sure, I'm not a pundit when it comes to soccer, so my opinion is just based on somewhat shallow reflexions. Merging it, however, doesn't seem uncomplicated. --Camptown 11:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)"
- I do agree with waiting to see what the decission is, because after the decission, the name of the article may be changed completely. Jackrm 11:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC) (Talk — Contributions)

Chief of Defence staff flag (Belarus)
editHonestly, I have no idea if the flag exists by law or decree (since I seen no photos of it). I can check the archives of a mailing list I am on, but I just down know. So that is why I placed the (fact) tag next to it. There is a lot of Belarusian flags that do exist, but we don't know about it, or just no idea if there is one or not. Montenegrin flag
editI know this is unorthodox, but there are no specific civil ensign, military or naval flags defined by the Montenegrin law. Current flag was defined in 2004, so possibly the other designs are not finished yet, but I'm not sure if they are working on them at all. Btw, according to Montenegrin law, all previous Montenegrin flags are under free use, so I'm about to upload those 3 civil ensigns we're missing. Cheers. Sideshow Bob 22:36, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hold on Sideshow; many of the ensign images are coming from FOTW, which doesn't allow commercial use of their images. I can try and redo some, but most will have to go. While the idea of the flag can't be copyrighted, specific drawings can be and these ones from FOTW are. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 23:35, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Two competing state flags? --PaxEquilibrium 23:28, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Which two precisely? (sorry if I'm confused) --PaxEquilibrium 23:34, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- The (Serbian) tricolor was the standard national flag, adopted as state one. Serbia also had just the tricolor until the Communist star was added in 1946. --PaxEquilibrium 16:20, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
About the tricolour of the Kingdom... The story goes that King Nicholas I adopted Serbian tricolour as the state flag, but as it stayed out on the sun too long, the blue colour faded out and became light blue, or plavetna. And since then, because King liked it, Montenegrin flags started being made with "bluish" colour in the middle instead of the regular blue one. Sideshow Bob 21:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that the unofficial version of the story ;), but official is plainly because two internationally recognized countries cannot have identical flags (both Montenegro and Serbia since 1878). Montenegro's flag had to differ at least a little to evade confusion. --PaxEquilibrium 09:57, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
It just had the 3:2 ratio rather than 3:1. Also, why did you delete the Naval and Trade flags? --PaxEquilibrium 00:27, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
But we need to differ. For example, the bottom one was used solely in several navy cases - and never for trade. What should we do? --PaxEquilibrium 19:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- That means flags on ships. ;) --PaxEquilibrium 22:59, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
RFC on Petri Krohn
editHello. Since you have been involved in discussions concerning edits by both Digwuren and Petri, and Digwuren seems to have notified mainly Baltic contributors, can I draw your attention to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Petri Krohn where you could probably voice an opinion, relevant to the problem at hand. The RFC was put up rather irregularly, so please do not be angry with me if it is already deleted by the time you get there. --Pan Gerwazy 09:40, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
MNE Flags & other
editBTW I've found several books on Montenegrin flags, one of them being from Montenegrin historian and once mayor of Cetinje, Jovan Markus. It itself contains a detailed and complete history of Montenegrin flags, coats-of-arms, anthems and other symbols. --PaxEquilibrium 00:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Could you please help me with the flags? Montenegrin flags are freeware, but I don't know what tag to put... --PaxEquilibrium 21:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Eddie Murphy
editHi there. Since you had recently edited the Eddie Murphy page, I wanted to ask you about the tags on it. I recently made an endeavor to clean up the page for NPOV and copyediting, and you can see the sum of my edits here. It looks like you accidentally deleted the NPOV tag and readded it, but I was wondering if you could give it a look over the article and see if it's ok to take it off now. If not, I'm happy to continue editing it, and just point me to the right sections and I'll take care of it. I just didn't want to remove a NPOV when I was the one trying to make it NPOV because that seems so... NPOV. :) Thanks! Eliz81 01:22, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Advert-Live Earth
editI'm just an outsider who's been a Wikipedian for almost 2 years and am an admin, but I see no logic behind an advert tag on an event that is ongoing (ie, going on now, and now as in right this moment) because there will be no more ticket sales for any of these events (Rio and DC are also free so there are no ticket sales). As an admin who has speedy deleted things under G12, an advert would be something that is a pure ad and looks like it's trying to sell something. This doesn't fit either. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 18:49, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Tell me how we're promoting ticket sales for an event that's already sold out and ongoing? And actually give a reason and not play politics about Al Gore and company. I want a solid reason from you. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 18:55, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, we could probably remove the ticket section and replace it with just a note that the concerts in Rio and DC were free and all the other ones were not. It does seem a little excessive to put how much they were, where they were bought, ect. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 18:59, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Please note that I moved the critique in the introduction to the criticsm section so as to remove redundancy. -- Kerowren (talk • contribs • count) 22:18, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Kerowren, Gakhandal and the anon, please do not readd it. It's 100% redundant to the criticism section. SalaSkan 22:55, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

editNetBank
editWhy did you undo the information about NetBank? I deleted many items in the entry that no longer accurately describe Netbank and you placed this back in.
Some examples: Number of employees (it's much smaller than 1536), aircraft loans (NetBank does not offer aircraft loans), ATMs (NetBank does not own any ATMs), and many additional facts.
While I understand that some people may feel that I was vandalzing the entry by simplifying it, I was actually increasings its accuracy and making the entry reflect the current state of the company. The CEO of NetBank has announced the company is in shutdown in multiple SEC filings and has also announced the date of pending closure.
Please explain or rationalize your undoing my changes and placing inaccuracies back into the entry.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.76.32.16 (talk • contribs)

editWP:CHICOTW template
editI noticed you removed {{CUR-CHICOTW}}. I have been modifying it over the last few weeks to address complaints about its
- size
- length
- unnecessary links
It is now very similar in size to the article space warning {{underconstruction}}. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 14:40, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- First, the majority of my 20 DYKs had the old larger template, more conspicuous template on the page. Second, they don't disqualify, they simply remove the template during the front page run. Third, you removed the template before I nominated the article so that could not have been your reason. Fourth, you did not say whether the template is more objectionable than an underconstruction tag which gives the reader no explanation.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 14:56, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I understand you nominated this long before me. I just usually end up making WP:CHICOTW nominations. This is a private company so writing a properly sourced article is difficult. We are doing the best we can. Let me know what I can do to get this back in the main page queue.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 15:07, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
