Hello, and welcome to my user page! I'm a Brazilian Wikipedian, active both here and on the Portuguese Wikipedia. If you want to know more about me and my activities around here, just take a look at the userboxes. Feel free to talk to me at my talk page. If you want to know what I'm up to now, take a look at the "Currently working on" section below or check my personal sandbox.
What I do here
I mostly create and edit articles about music (especially rock, heavy metal and their sub-genres) and about Brazil (mostly geography and some biographies).
I also do lots of maintenance by tagging articles, requesting their deletion or doing some wikifying and cleanup - with special attention to categorization, my favorite maintenance task. I check WP:NEEDCAT and User:Danilo.mac/Category loops regularly and I think you should do it too.
Currently working on
- Improve/create articles using sources saved in my browser;
- Create/translate/improve articles on several recent albums;
- Create the articles below. Quite a few of them no longer interest me and will be removed. Another bunch may not meet our notability criteria; these will be moved to a list further below until the current list is done and I start looking for possible sources again (such cycles may take over a decade):
The articles below failed an initial notability evaluation. They'll be kept here until I reach the end of the list and start a second round of evaluations.
- Abel Sequera (Spanish musician that leads a prog metal project. No presence in major sources, little presence in minor sources. LOW potential)
- Aeternam (Canadian symphonic metal band with little presence in minor and medium sources. MEDIUM potential)
- Aerodyne (band) (appears in minor sources, but does have quite a few fans. LOW potential)
- AfterWinter (Christian prog power metal band only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- Amyr Abadawn (Singaporean progressive metal project only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- The Anchoret (Canadian Progressive metal band whose debut album was reviewed in multiple medium and minor websites and was mentioned in a few major sources. MEDIUM potential.)
- Antoine's Legacy (recent, one-album band. Appears in minor and medium sources, but mostly trivial. MEDIUM potential)
- Apnea (band) (Brazilian underground supergroup that is only covered in minor or local sources. MEDIUM potential)
- Armed Cloud (Dutch prog metal band only appearing in trivial sources. LOW potencial)
- Astral Samurai (Finnish instrumental progressive metal band only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- Atomic Symphony (Swiss prog metal band only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- Auro Control (Brazilian prog power metal band with high-profile guests appearing in some minor Brazilian sources and a couple of minor international ones. MEDIUM potential)
- The Aurora Project (Dutch prog metal band only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- Black Bell Tone (Appears in minor and medium sources, plus one big source (R7) and one in English (they're Brazilian). Would probably thrive given En Wiki's higher tolerance on non-notable material, but I'm not willing to see my time and work go to waste after an AfD. High potential)
- Carbonica (Appears in minor sources, being mentioned in some bigger ones,. Would probably thrive given En Wiki's higher tolerance on non-notable material, but I'm not willing to see my time and work go to waste after an AfD. Medium potential)
- Catchlight (hardly any journalistic coverage, mostly only streaming and database occurrences in searches. Low potential)
- Cell15 (faint journalistic coverage, mostly in minor sources; mostly only streaming and database occurrences in searches. Low potential)
- Chaosbay (up-and-coming prog metal band that only appears in minor sources yet. MEDIUM potential.)
- Cosmosquad (although it is formed by three notable musicians (Barry Sparks, Jeff Kollman and Shane Gaalaas), its media coverage is surprisingly scarce. I got some coverage from Blabbermouth, Louder and a couple of other websites, but mostly trivial. HIGH potential.)
- Crusade of Bards (Spanish symphonic power metal band present in a couple of minor sources only. Medium potential.)
- The Cyberyam (recent, one-album band. Appears in minor and medium sources, but mostly trivial. Medium potential)
- Dark Avenger (band) (Brazilian pioneering power metal band that's unfortunately neglected in major sources (except for mentions following the lead vocalist's death in 2017. MEDIUM potential)
- Eden Seed (this Brazilian band generated some media attention for having a muslin guitarist who performed with her burqa. However, since the coverage seems to be focused on that particular fact, and not on the band as a whole, it seems insufficient for an article. LOW potential.)
- Edward de Rosa (Italian prog power metal project present only in trivial sources and a couple of Italian ones. LOW potencial)
- Edward Reekers (had to redirect this article because it was an unsourced BLP. He seems to be quite well-covered in some domestic sources, but will only appear in casual mentions from other sources, especially those talking about Ayreon. MEDIUM potential)
- The Enigma Division (Irish progressive metal band only found within minor, trivial sources. LOW potential)
- Eternity's End (metal opera featuring lots of notable musicians, but didn't apparently generate much media coverage. Might get more attention with future releases. MEDIUM potential)
- Etherius (up-and-coming prog metal band that appears in quite a few sources yet, but I'd wait before making the move towards an article creation. HIGH potential.)
- Eu Acuso! (extinct Brazilian rock band with only very minor coverage. LOW potential)
- Fabulous Bandits (Brazilian western country rock band with some media coverage. Apparently inactive since the early 2010s. MEDIUM potential)
- Farzad Golpayegani (Iranian prog metal guitarist. Given that such genre is simply illegal in his homecountry, I'd expect him to get some attention, but turns out the media isn't caring much. LOW potential.)
- Fate's Pride (minor prog Venezuelan band with hardly any coverage. LOW potential.)
- Fogalord (Up-and-coming Italian power metal band. Only trivial results return from searches, but could become popular soon. MEDIUM potential.)
- ForsiK (Brazilian band that released an EP almost ten years ago and apparently went inactive. LOW potential.)
- 4th Dimension (band) (minor Italian power metal group that hasn't caught enough media attention, I'm afraid. LOW potential)
- Franck Carducci (French prog rock musician. His latest album The Answer caused a bit of a stir in the prog community, but I'm still skeptical about the chances of this article surviving. An article about the album itself is a real possibility, though. MEDIUM potential.)
- Freakeys (I was never able to find sufficient sources for this one-off, Brazilian version of Liquid Tension Experiment. LOW potential)
- Gaia Epicus (Norwegian power metal band that's been around for quite some time, but still lacks in-depth coverage on international media. Maybe domestic sources could bring some insight, but I don't speak Norwegian, so... LOW potential)
- Genius (band) (despite resulting in three albums, featuring lots of notable metal musicians and having been released way before metal operas became a trend, this project has generated only trivial or minor coverage. LOW potential)
- Gloom (Brazilian ska punk band with some presence in small and medium sources. Not willing to take a chance on them for now. MEDIUM potential)
- Grandfúria (Brazilian indie folk rock band yet to gain more substantial coverage. MEDIUM potential)
- Grupo Terramérica (Brazilian Andean music group with just very little coverage. LOW potential)
- Guts (musician) (French musician with some coverage on French sources; didn't bother checking them because I barely know a few words in the language. He had a song featured on the GTA V soundtrack, if that is of any help in terms of notability. MEDIUM potential)
- Helia (band) (one-album Italian band that has been apparently inactive. There are articles in four languages, but all of them are unsourced or poorly sourced. LOW potential)
- Hemina (Australian prog metal band; they have a DE Wiki article with quite a few sources and I was able to fetch a couple more, but I'm still not confident about its notability. Maybe I'll wait a little bit. HIGH potential)
- Hillbilly Rawhide (Brazilian country rock band, there's a PT Wiki article, but poorly sources. Couldn't find much more. LOW potential)
- Heretic (Brazilian band) (Brazilian oriental metal band which appears in a handful of sources, but not more than that. Not yet notable, I guess. MEDIUM potential)
- Ivory Tower (band) (German prog metal band that's been around for over 20 years, but failed to gain much attention from sources. MEDIUM potential)
- Kælling (Portuguse prog metal bandwhich hasn't appeared in many sources so far. MEDIUM potential)
- Karnya (Italian band which released an album in 2013 and has since been pretty much inactive. LOW potential)
- Katie Kadan (third place on the American The Voice, but not too many sources, I'm afraid. A more thorough search would most likely reveal more references. HIGH potential).
- Kattah (Brazilian oriental metal band which only made it to very minor sources. MEDIUM potential)
- The Kordz (Lebanese oriental metal band which made it to quite a few sources, though I'm still skeptic about its survival chances. HIGH potential)
- Laura Petit (I created an article on this Brazilian singer on the PT Wikipedia and it got PRODed in just over 30 minutes (it would be eventually ____ following an AfD discussion). If the Portuguese Wikipedia feels like is not the time yet, I won't take any chances with the EN one. HIGH potential)
- Lee Luland (I barely know if I'll be able to start the article about his main band Prospekt (band), let alone one for himself. LOW potential)
- Legend (band) (Korean power metal band which released one album in 2009 and has since been pretty much inactive. LOW potential)

Thank you for adding the "artwork" section and its citation on the Resist article, I've been wanting to write about it there but couldn't find any actual and direct sources. 10mandown (talk) 02:36, 14 February 2019 (UTC) |
