AfD
editI have nominated this article due to it failing WP:GNG. Elayyan is not notable under WP:NSPORTS and the coverage of him is entirely due to his cause of death WP:BLP1E. 202.172.113.133 (talk) 03:23, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Disagree.
Several of the sources are about him before he was murdered. If he wasnt fully notable before this incident, the subsequent coverage is definitely enough to push him in the notability list.

I highly disagree. You are taking away a piece of history that will be recognized then, now and forever. Heru101 (talk) 16:58, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
Continuing from my point, we all should have a vote and say in this page. Just because it was nominated, will it be deleted without trial. Heru101 (talk) 17:02, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Note on spelling of names of family members
editThe New York Times notes in this article:
- "some members of the family spell the surname differently than others"
Several use the spelling "Alayan" instead of "Elayyan" WhisperToMe (talk) 02:51, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
