English: This is Matoke, green banana, or Plantain. It is traditional stock food in East Africa, e.g. Uganda. Quantity shown: lower half of banana fruit. It is peeled and cooked, sometimes smashed. Served with souce like tomatoe, geenuts (ground peanut incl. their yellow peanut peels), and peas, beans, or rice or irish potatoes, or sweet potatoes or yams. As unripe bananas they are white after peel and need to be cooked. Then they turn yellow and can be eaten. Taste: unusual.
