Amarashilpi Jakanachari is a 1964 Indian Kannada-language film, directed and produced by B. S. Ranga. It stars Kalyan Kumar in the eponymous role of Amarashilpi Jakanachari, a sculptor who lived in the 12th-century Hoysala Empire. It also features B. Saroja Devi, Udaykumar and V. Nagayya. The film score and soundtrack were composed by S. Rajeswara Rao.[2][3] The film was the first Kannada feature film fully shot in colour.[4][5] B. S. Ranga made the film simultaneously along with the Telugu version titled Amarasilpi Jakkanna which featured Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the title role, along with Saroja Devi and Nagayya.
