Health and Economic Growth Nexus: Evidence from Turkey

Health has a vital importance in human development. The aim of this study is to fill the research gap about the mentioned issue and to determine causality relation between economic growth and health in Turkey during 1960-2014 utilizing Hsiao s causality test. The empirical results obtained from Hsiao s causality test indicate that there is a causality relation from economic growth to health but there is not such relation from health to economic growth. Turkey tends to concentrate in the causality running from economic growth to health.
