Service-Oriented Product Line Framework to Support Dynamic Product Reconfiguration

Software Product Line Engineering is a great means of reducing the cost and time of developing a family of systems having common features through increasing reusability. Current Software Product Line Engineering frameworks introduce software building blocks as a part of core assets to be statically bound at design- through deployment-time, which means all variations are instantiated before the product delivery. One of the ways to solve this problem is using service-orientation paradigm in SPL engineering. In this paper, we present a survey on the frameworks and propose a comprehensive service oriented product line engineering framework. The framework aims at providing dynamic product reconfigurability, as well as utilizing business factors (mostly business processes) as a main input to the framework.
