Abstract:
This study investigates the neutralization of harmful car exhaust gases using Pd-Cu catalysts based on δ-alumina. The catalysts were designed with an equal loading of copper and palladium, ensuring that thecombined concentration of both metals did not exceed ۰۲۰۲۰. Copper was added in weight percentages of۰۲۰.۰, ۰۲۰۰۳۰, and ۰۲۰۰۰ to achieve a total loading of ۰۲۲۰ with palladium. The resulting catalystsexhibited a face-centered cubic crystal structure and demonstrated high activity in removing carbonmonoxide and hydrocarbons at temperatures exceeding ۲۵۰ degrees Celsius. However, the catalystcontaining ۰۲۰۰۰ copper experienced a slight decrease in carbon monoxide removal activity at very hightemperatures, likely due to copper atom agglomeration. This study highlights the effectiveness of δ-alumina,combined with noble and transition metals, for efficiently removing harmful gases from car exhaust.
