I am not sure I understand why this article "was clearly not a candidate for a speedy deletion". WP:A7 says that an article about an organisation that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant should be speedily deleted. I could not see the claim of importance or significance. If I have missed something then I would like to understand. I am not intrested in deleteing articles per se as you imply, but rather I am intrested in the quality of the encyclopedia and would wish to "weed out bad material from Wikipedia." According to the standards given, that appeared to me to be "bad material" and I therefore chose to ask for it to be weeded out. You would have noted that the originator of the page that Thrduulf was referring to had in fact been banned/blocked at some point for marking pages as reviewed and yet failing to mark the bad ones for speedy deletion. I would therefore, not dare to not mark pages that apparantly come under the criteria for deletion. Op47 (talk) 16:44, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: the Accounting research DYK nom - quick questions
Hello!
Quick questions regarding your comment on the nom. Where's that off-line reference you mentioned? (And what exactly is an off-line reference? It's been a while since I've been familiar with the copy-editing terminology on Wikipedia!)
And thanks for checking out the nom, btw.
-Well-restedTalk 04:28, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hello! Thanks for the reply on my talk page. I guess the off-line reference would probably be one of the research papers. Mental note that I could add the link to the relevant page on the journal's website in future. Thanks again! -Well-restedTalk 20:01, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Satyanarayan Singh (U.P. politician)
Hello Soman, I had created page for politician Satya Narain Singh which was later moved by you to Satyanarayan Singh (U.P. politician). I would like to inform you that his correct name as per Lok Sabha records is Satya Narain Singh and hence the page should to be maintained in the earlier name. Even the name spelling is different. Check this. Can you please have this resolved? Cheers AKS 14:16, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Indian Politicians
Hi Soman, I have been working on Indian politics related pages and have written dozens of articles about Indian politicians. My initial observation is that a) Lots of politicians don't have a page & b) Lots of existing pages (of politicians and other political material) are either very poorly written OR very inconsistent (in writing style and content). I have been trying to standardize and improve the quality of articles written by me but it will take time. When you have time, can you randomly check some pages written by me and let me have your feedback? I noticed that you already made some value addition on one of the pages I wrote recently; thanks. Nebula
Google does not show a nebula party, and the references do not show on the deleted page. Would you be good enough to post the best reference on my talk page?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:47, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- I have, for the present, restored the article. The reference calls the party "SUDA", not "NEBULA", which of course accounts for my failure to find it in Google. Unless you can find a convincing reference for "NEBULA" it is necessary either to explain the name within the article, or move to the correct title, as it will otherwise be deleted again; by someone else if not by me.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:58, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Burevestnik
That's a tough one, not listed in Hoerder. I've found one other Russian-language paper not listed in there before, that section of the book isn't the best. I tweaked things around a little and explained the pun of the title. There are 3 listings in WorldCat, one being at Stanford — where I get every couple years and hope to visit next summer — and have made a note to myself to look it up when I'm there. I have one more book on the Russian immigrant press, but I really doubt it's gonna have anything. I'll look for it, not sure where I've got it filed (and I've got something like 13,000 books these days). Keep up the good work, by the way, I've been putting notice of your work up on a few H-Net lists every week or two when I send out my website updates. best, —Tim /// Carrite (talk) 18:56, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Many thanks. --Soman (talk) 18:57, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- Found the other book, We Fall and Rise, but it has a periodization of 1889-1914, sadly. By the way, Marty Goodman is about ready to release a new edition of his scans (about 150 gigs on a couple hard drives, mostly Trot and early Communist stuff). Do you have any interest in these when I'm done transferring them to my 3TB external drive? It's pretty fantastic stuff (full run of The Militant from 1928 to 1966 from original paper, etc.). Drop me an email off-list if you want the drives: ShoeHutch@gmail.com —Tim /// Carrite (talk) 19:23, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
- The name and pun is sort of obvious to someone who reads Russian. Not DYK material, sadly. You see the translation as "Stormy Petrel" sometimes, I think that's how the Oxford dictionary has it. For Vestnik, see for example Sotsialisticheskii vestnik, the OO of the Mensheviks in exile. Carrite (talk) 03:25, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

- Got the drives in hand, Marty gave me the OK to pass them on to you if you want them. They're yours for the asking (email your mailing address). If you're not interested, drop me a note on my talk page. They're read-only on a Mac, read and write on a PC. If you've a Mac guy and have got a 1TB or bigger external, probably best to copy the stuff over and reorganize it on your drive since this is a beta release and Marty's filing system is, ummm.......... challenging. best, —Tim /// Carrite (talk) 05:54, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
