The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess?

[edit]

I'm in a way quite embarrassed, as I like to think of myself as avidly following every little Zelda 2005 leak and update, but this is the first time I've heard this name!

However, I am unable to find any Googles for this name. Where did this image come from? I'm interested in both the name of the mag and any forum thread(s) you know of that talk about this!

Thanks a million! Master Thief Garrett 02:11, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The image was originally from a French site and was later posted in Gaming Age, although I actually found the scan from The Next Level.

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/showthread.php?t=36397
For some reason , the site doesn't mention the source (judging by the fonts, it looks like EGM). Anyway, I lot of the other games on the list has been confirmed (since they've been registed by Nintendo). I heard Twilight Princess is possibly a translation of the Japanese title (although, I seriously doubt that). Jonny2x4 03:01, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
TSA the Zelda-god has just given his judgement on it. According to hex-editor examination of the image, it originated in Photoshop. So in the meantime I'm afraid I'll have to revert it. Sorry. Master Thief Garrett 03:13, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright. It's good to have doubts, but I'm 99% sure it's real (regardless of how you feel about TSA being a "Zelda God"). Pokemon XD is not a smiley, but the actual title of the new Pokemon game that was shown on CoroCoro Comics. The inclusion of Donkey Konga 2 and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones as part of Nintendo's 2006 lineup isn't unusual, since many companies consider games released in a present year to be part of their next year's lineup. Metroid: Dread isn't any more ridiculous sounding for a Metroid title than Metroid: Fusion or Super Metroid. Hell, it's alot less ridiculous than the new Metroid Pinball title they announced awhile ago. That's my two cents.Jonny2x4 03:33, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That, and Metal Gear Acid, and Sonic on GBA, and Shadow the Hedgehog with a gun, and... hehehe... but further into the topic, TSA says this: "Sorry, somebody bought the [I think it was supposed to be the May Game Informer] issue, it's not in there, it's fake. It's an EGM template with an existing screen and EGM font. Pretty easy photo job. Nice try to the guy/girl who made it." So, um, yeah. It's a shame, but, apparently, not true at all. Darn. Master Thief Garrett 04:09, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Told you it wasn't a hoax! This also happened when I was arguing to people about the authenticity of the MGS3 casting sheet. Jonny2x4 20:16, 17 May 2005 (UTC) :p[reply]

Campbell's not dead

[edit]

You obviously didn't read what I added to the article concering Roy Campbell. I said Hal Emmerich tells Raiden that Campbell was found dead in his home prior to MGS2. You need to learn how to read, jeeze.

Yes, I know what you added and that doesn't make it right. What you need to do is pay attention to the actual games before modifying an existing article. Otacon never said that Campbell was dead in MGS2, only that Raiden's "Colonel" was a fake. You're probably confusing Master Miller's death in MGS1 , with Campbell's (who's death has never been confirmed, if he really died) . I recommend that you check the following transcript of the game's dialogue (or better yet, play the game itself) and see for yourself. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/metal_gear_solid_2_script.txt
I concur with this. Otacon never says Campdell died. I remember it well. --Kiyosuki 18:56, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Genome Soldier

[edit]

Hey, thanks for writing a good article for the Genome Soldier. I would've replayed through the game, but I haven't had enough time for that in a while. It's good and I give you a thumbs up. Thanks again. --Useless Fodder 02:54, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback. I recently played through the original not so long ago and some of the info was still fresh in my mind. I had to relied a bit on transcripts and text dumps of the game though (especially the "In the Shadow of Shadow Moses" short story, since it's the only source which reveals the final fate of the Genome Army.) Concerning an Edit to List of Metal Gear Characters

[edit]

I'm not really on the up and up on the extra-special exclusive news items, but I thought those names were canon and legit. If you've got proof to the contrary, fine; but if not could you change the article back? Thank you. --FDIS 04:28, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're pretty gullible in that case. Likewise, I ask the same for you, only opposite. It's easy to say cite your source as an "interview with Famitsu", but if you don't provide the exact magazine (Famitsu has five different incarnations in publication, including Weekly Famitsu and Famitsu PS2) or issue number, then there's really no credibility to your statement. Don't you think that if Kojima ever did assigned any "real names" to the characters, wouldn't it be more readily available? Jonny2x4 04:49, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry for the confusion. I never wrote the names and "sources". I just wasn't sure if they were real or not, but I didn't feel like researching it. --FDIS 06:02, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

MGS Characters

[edit]

I would be bold myself and change it but i dont have the neccesary of knowledge. We both know each character should have a seperate page and it might as well jsut be done, as discussion regarding the change is not getting us anywhere. collecting all those characters together is not far from creating a single page listening every game in existence and removing htere individual pages. Just rememeber the fifth pillar of wikipedia! --The Pain 13:15, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy improving some of the Resident Evil articles, that I forgot about this. Anyway, I already Liquid and Solidus their own pages at least. Should start with the rest soon. Jonny2x4 02:29, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ack, please don't split out Liquid and Solidus without mentioning it as part of the ongoing discussion at Talk:List of Metal Gear characters first. Liquid Snake in particular isn't so long it needs to be split, and the extra context in a relevant list helps.
Anyway, are you sure splitting by unit instead of just by game is a good idea? Seems like most of the games (MGS in particular) don't have so many characters that you need separate, smaller lists for the super-units. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 02:45, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah! Sorry I didn't warm you beforehand. I'll provide my motives in the discussion page. Jonny2x4 02:52, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No problem about the warning, I just think my way is going to be better. ;D We're on the same page here, just different paragraphs. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 02:53, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Got another proposal at Talk:List of Metal Gear characters, explaining a little bit better. If we're doing multiple lists, I really, really don't want a catchall list that covers characters who don't appear in more than one game. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 04:02, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I replied to your comment on my talk page. (And just as as I opened this page, David Hayter appeared on this TV show I'm watching. Hah.) - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:20, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Capcom

[edit]

I've blocked Capsom for 24 hours, and warned him that next time he'll be blocked indefinitely for the user name. Can you alert me if that next time should happen? --Maru (talk) Contribs 07:25, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem at all. I'll let you know if he does anything to the page next time. The content that he (and some other user) has been adding is nothing more than blantant fan fiction, which is why I reported him. Jonny2x4 07:33, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
He did it again! I think it's time to ban him! Jonny2x4 07:45, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WTF..?

[edit]

May I ask what the hell you were thinking when you made the eroneous comment of "Another case of the "player is the reader" writing syndrome"..? That was completly uncalled for, and when you make an edit to a page just say what you did, not make a comment about a writer's ability. When I first made the article Warzard, I had no doubt it would be edited upon, but I didn't expect (nor appreciate) comments like this. Thanks. However, on the other hand, I do thank you for merging the charcter pages I made with the article, its more economical, and makes more sense ( when i first made them, i thought there'd be more info to write on them, but...Warzard is pretty obsucre...so..). -MegamanZero 8:48 23, November 2005 (UTC)

And what's this..?!.. Why did you take out the screenshot caption.? Please explain your "reasoning" for that action, in the meanwhile, I'm putting it back on the page. -MegamanZero 8:50 23, November 2005 (UTC)

When describing the gameplay of a video game, do not use the term "you" when referring to what the player does in the game. You're not writing for a video game site, so don't assume that everyone who is looking for information about a game in wikipedia is going to automatically play it. This is covered in Wikipedia:WikiProject_Computer_and_video_games#Style. The reason why I made that comment is because it's a common writing flaw among new users and was not meant to be taken as a specific criticism about your writing style (to be honest, I don't really know or care who you are).

As for the removal of the screenshots, that was an accident on my part. You can feel free to add it back in, although I would recommend a single screenshot of the game over a collage as it is. It's more convenient that way. Jonny2x4 13:53, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No harm done =). I just thought that was a bit harsh, considering...but like I said, I knew people would edit(In fact that's what I wanted) the article and improve its quality. I usually don't write in that style, but it was late at night, and well..I just wanted the article up. Regradless, my forte' in wikipedia is usually to make articles, then I step aside and let people perfect them; such is the case with my fellow user Wolf O Donnel and the various megaman articles I've constructed.-MegamanZero 18:08 24, November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

[edit]

.....For fixing my mistakes on my Choi and Chang articles. I always get KOF and FF mixed up. Also thanks for coming to a comprimise on the Mai page, with the pics and all.-MegamanZero 20:52 26, November 2005 (UTC)

Also, I'm curious...did you get your user name from Ed, Edd, and Eddy'..?-MegamanZero 21:11 26, November 2005 (UTC)
I appreciate the feedback. The name was something random I remembered when I decided to come up with a username here. I believe I did indeed take the name from the Ed, Edd and Eddy character, but it really wasn't a factor of using it here. I just liked the sound of it. Jonny2x4 16:10, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

MGS4 images

[edit]

why did you change the images back? --NeverLogic 02:44, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

By MGS4 images, I'm assuming you mean the images in the MGS3 character article. I have a few reasons. First of all, I personally don't like using images that are ripped straight from official sites, especially when one can find a higher quality version of the same image from press kits. It seems a bit unprofessional in my opinion and I prefer to do it when there's no other alternatives. I did changed the illustrations back to renders though, since that was your reasoning for the change. Secondly, JPGs are much better for illustrations and renders that GIFs, especially since alot of these images were originally distributed in JPG format. Just compare the GIF renders you uploaded with the JPG renders that were previously here. There's really no contest. And finally, I think composite images are really redundant here, when they're basically different interpretations of the same idea.
Those are my main reasons. I'll probably let others decide in the Talk page though. Jonny2x4 03:00, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

mgs3 images

[edit]

would you please explain to me that after the discussion on the talk page for mgs3 characters you still changed the pictures and altered my comment? the talk page clearly shows the democratic decision about an asthetic opinion. please be civil. Solidusspriggan 11:12, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you had actually bothered reading carefully you'll notice that I DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN YOUR COMMENT. All I did was provide a response. This is my last edit. To your left is what was originally posted and what is on the right is what I AND ONLY I ADDED.

This was your edit. You removed a text of my originally message and then attributed my comment to yourself. If anything, it's you who's guilty of libel.

Image placement vote

[edit]

Hello, it's MegamanZero, and I've gotten into a conflict with the Orgy over his needless image placement and excessive quotes on the Iori Yagami page. So, I've decided to hold a vote (like on the Ryu charaacter page) concerning which version should be used. The vote can be found here. Please vote your opinion on the matter and thanks for your time! -MegamanZero 18:01, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dude you should put in a Request for adminship!

[edit]

With the edits you contributed to the Resident Evil pages you would be a good administrator. Just a thought thanks! Empty2005 05:06, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
