Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Dear Graciousann: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   -WarthogDemon 04:50, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:James Goll.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 05:44, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Goll Family.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Goll Family.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. About the James Goll article

[edit]

Greetings! A number of changes were made to the James Goll article which you reverted. I have reapplied the changes as appropriate.

Remember that we are writing an encyclopedia, so entries must present information factually. Accordingly, certain phrases such as "beautiful Franklin" should be avoided; all that needs be said is that he resides in Franklin.

Finally, based on the images you have rights to, I am concerned that you may be GraceAnn and thus have a conflict of interest with the article. Because of our goal of writing objective entries, it is very perilous to write about a family member.

Remember that the changes made were to improve the article. Please do not revert them again without discussing them at the article's talk page. Regards, —C.Fred (talk) 16:55, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Goll Family.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Goll Family.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:04, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
