Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Obtundation. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 13:29, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note

Emoji showing a worried face Hi Dawn PScLim, I'm Stwalkerster. You'll likely not be pleased about this but I have removed some of your edits because they reveal too much personally identifiable information about you. We have a policy of protecting editors' safety by hiding such information if they share it. I'm really sorry about having to suppress your edits, and I know it's annoying, but it's for the best. Please don't re-add the information. For some useful information on privacy and safety, you can take a look at Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors and Wikipedia:On privacy, confidentiality and discretion. Thank you, and sorry for messing about with your edits! stwalkerster (talk) 10:03, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's good. I messed up the committed identity template and realized I just revealed basically everything. I was finding for help but luckily you suppressed it. Thanks... I guess. Dawn Lim (talk) 10:49, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The page Template:User underage has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:

Several reasons with heavy implications that require this be immediately deleted

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -- Amanda (she/her) 12:27, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

can you tell me specifically what speedy deletion criteria it meets so i could work from there? thanks. Dawn Lim (talk) 00:03, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@AmandaNP: Hello, can you please specify what criteria it meets because you just mentioned: "Several reasons with heavy implications that require this be immediately deleted" , i can't find any obvious answer from the criteria for speedy deletion page, so please tell me the implications, thanks. Also i just found you can ping others, I should have known that when posting the first reply. Dawn Lim (talk) 13:05, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It does not match a CSD criterion, but is done under the oversight policy in regards to personal information. We always suppress the fact that people are minors due to the amount of people on here who would abuse that information. I can't go into to much detail other than that. -- Amanda (she/her) 13:40, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
alright, i thought only WP:CSD and WP:SNOW can cause speedy deletion but well i guess that also applies. Dawn Lim (talk) 14:36, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template edits

[edit]

You had some of us scratching our heads about why certain pages, with no recent edits, were showing up in Category:Wikipedians looking for help. It appears an edit of yours, which you later fixed, here, was the likely culprit.

Please be very cautious about template edits. The wording on many templates has been carefully hashed out through a consensus process and should not be changed without understanding that background. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 07:44, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing templates

[edit]
@The Anome I am ok with the block in the short-term at least, but why did you need to include talk pages as well? If you look in past discussions, it does recommend helping by talk-pages, and i haven't did any disruptive editing to that talk namespace either. so what is that for, I just want to ask? Dawn Lim (talk) 14:55, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'd suggest taking a complete break from anything template-related for the time being. There are lots of other things you can do to improve Wikipedia, and you are more than welcome to make positive contributions to the encyclopedia in other types of pages. — The Anome (talk) 14:58, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm just a regular ed like you, not an admin like admin "The Anome" above, but I've been around and have some advice. I recommend you stay away from the "how to" pages of Wikipedia for now. If you want to discuss changes to such pages, please use the associated talk page to float your ideas first, then wait a few days to see if anyone offers feedback. FYI, in the second ANI I was hoping an admin would already P-block you from everything except articles and talk pages, where you could work on both your advanced English and consensus-building skills. Since the PBlock is limited to template space only, you have access to WP:P&G and other such pages, but again, please identify your desired changes at the talk pages. See Help:Wikitext for ideas on using markup formatting to show your suggested strikeouts and additions. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 15:04, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

[edit]

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 03:00, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
