Hello, Bbx118. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, John Saxon (wrestler), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

The article Lee Wyckoff has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:GNG or WP:ENTERTAINER. No significant coverage in reliable independent sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. List of proposed state mergers

Please stop adding invalid entries to the list of proposed state mergers. Until there is agreement between the governments of both sides and a proposal is drafted and tabled and approved to that effect, it is not a proposed state merger. If you add it again, it will simply be removed again. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 11:27, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Kiera Hogan

Unspecified source/license for File:NWA logo as of 2018.tiff

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NWA logo as of 2018.tiff. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 23:45, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. The Daily Mail is not an acceptable reliable source on Wikipedia, per consensus at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard; this is particularly so when it uses anonymous sources to accuse a named living person of lying. Do not reinsert any such material into articles. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 01:32, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Blaze and The Daily Caller are partisan right-wing sources unacceptable for claims about living people, and the CNN article you cite contains no trace of the claimed statement. Do not reinsert the disputed material absent consensus on the talk page; it is your responsibility to gain consensus for the inclusion of this material, particularly given the questionable-at-best sourcing and the anonymous nature of the purported source. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 16:40, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's incorrect; the CNN source clearly states what is cited. Alas, I was simply adding additional information to a subject I had been reading about. You seem to have a clear bias on the subject and as I have no dog in the fight, so to speak, I shall end the discussion here. Regards - BBX118 17:37, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Please don't use deceased wrestlers categories

[edit]

Hello, please don't use deceased wrestlers categories, as you did when creating Lee Wyckoff. Per Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2017_October_21#Deceased_professional_wrestlers_categories they are deprecated because ultimately they will contain every wrestler who ever lived, so just aren't very WP:DEFINING. More generally, you shouldn't leave categories as red links - per WP:REDNOT you should either create them or not add the link.Le Deluge (talk) 08:35, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nazi Party. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Your recent editing history at Cisgender shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.Canterbury Tail talk 13:34, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm STATicVapor. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks from Dezmond Xavier. Often redlinks can be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" special link (in the Wikipedia Toolbox at left) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Redlinks are useful! Please, only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks! Jocephus (wrestler) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Jocephus (wrestler), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Advice on first article?

[edit]

Hello again. I was wondering if you could offer any advice for my first article? I took a stab at writing an article about George Cannon's "Superstars of Wrestling" program which nationally syndicated in Canada (and parts of the U.S.) during the 1970s. The article is posted here on Wikipedia:Sandbox. I'm not the best writer but I think the sources are solid. Are there any members at the Pro Wrestling WikiProject that would be willing to look it over? 173.162.220.17 (talk) 18:41, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nazi allies ?

[edit]

Hi, while Japan was certainly not involved in any way with the holocaust - Italy was. It sent people to German-run camps, even though Italians didn't actually run any such camps themselves. Hence Primo Levi's time at Auschwitz. Plus soldiery from eastern European collaborationist states were actively engaged in running camps - it was mainly them I was thinking of - does one count collaborationist states or puppet regimes as 'allies'? I thought yes. Pincrete (talk) 15:55, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Troubles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Mike Tyson

[edit]

I'm not sure if you saw but I reverted your addition of titles in the 'Award and honors' section. I thought it was in MOS:BOXING that they should be in a section of their own, but I was wrong. An example of what I meant would be this section in Mayweather's article. Besides that, my reasoning to keep them separate would be that titles aren't really awarded like "The Ring Fighter of the Year", titles are won. – 2.O.Boxing 17:44, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, no problem.

Hi there, I'm MDanielsBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Jocephus (wrestler), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. MDanielsBot (talk) 03:38, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Jocephus (wrestler)

[edit]

Hello, Bbx118. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jocephus".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:12, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature

[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm just flagging this up again, Bbx118, because there appears to still be a problem with your signature. Per policy, your signature needs to include at least one direct link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page, but the link included here doesn't - what looks like a link goes to the wrong page, because of the capitalisation of the letters BBX. Would you be able to fix this? Cordless Larry (talk) 21:09, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes sir I've correct it now (hopefully), thanks for letting me know!

Requesting assistance

[edit]

Hi Bbx118,

I'm writing to you because you are listed as a member of the Wikiproject Pro Wrestling, and I'm in need of third (actually fourth) opinions.

The thing is, Hartley Jackson recently went through an AfD that arose a lengthy of discussion.
I will try to summarize the problem below.

Jammo85 had asked me for assistance in find sources to a certain fact, and I did find some good sources, but we are still facing opposition from another user in Hartley Jackson and The Mighty Don't Kneel (TMDK).
I would thus like to ask your opinion on the matter.

We would like to state "Hartley Jackson was part of The Mighty Don't Kneel in 2015 and 2016."

I have found two sources from websites of official pro wrestling events (they are archived, please give it a few minutes to load):

and Hartley appears on the TMDK side on both.

Also, there is also a listing of his appearances as TMDK here, which corroborates the above:

but this website is listed in one unofficial list of reliable sources as being Marginally reliable. Strictly used for match results and not other information. Takes user submissions but is reviewed by regional editors that verify all submissions before they are added to the database. The other party uses this against us, but I actually think it supports us, as we are actually only using results here. That is, we are not using the blog posts produced in cagematch (see [6]).

I thought the above sources were enough, but there are some more if you would like to see:[1][2][3].

  1. ^ Wrestle rampage's official ad on social media [1].
  2. ^ Greer, Jamie (2020-05-05). "The Mighty, Too: Shane Thorne & Brendan Vink Continue TMDK Legacy". Last Word on Pro Wrestling. Retrieved 2020-09-26.
  3. ^ Other sources on this piece of information are: [2], which is an article from a podcast on wrestling, which mentions Hartley as being part of TMDK; and also [3] [4], which are official match advertisements from Wrestling Rampage, and show Hartley in the TMDK team. All links were accessed on October 7, 2020.

Can I have your opinion on this?

Stop being stubborn

[edit]

I am not removing information about Dain's nationality. I am changing his nationality to match what's in his Twitter bio and the rest of the article. You're the one claiming he self-identifies as proper Irish, therefore the onus is on you to prove something that isn't mentioned in the reference. If you can't find any better reference claiming he's actually Irish, you're going to leave it as Northern Irish. It really is that simple. Afreoleidddra (talk) 09:31, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're removing information. Please take it to the talk page of the article or I'll have to report this. Thanks.

PS: Your message ("proper Irish", "actually Irish") is telling.

Also - he literally has an Irish tricolour as his profile photo.

BBX118 10:59, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

You're the only reason I need to bring it up at all, I'll put whatever you like in the talk page seeing as you asked but quite frankly you're the only one that's causing a problem here. I'm not removing information. I'm changing it to match what's in the source. Find me any credible source in which he describes himself as being from the Republic of Ireland, not Northern Ireland, and I'll leave the matter be. His bio has him as being from Northern Ireland, the article says he was born in Belfast and describes Finlay as his "fellow countryman" - why would it if Dain was Irish as you claim? I really don't see what's so unreasonable about calling him Northern Irish. You're the one that's making claims that contradicts the source and the rest of the article. I really don't know how many different ways I can say that before I end up repeating myself but it's very telling that I even have to at all. Afreoleidddra (talk) 19:01, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
From what you've written it's clear you don't understand the subject here re: Irish identify. One does not have to be from the Republic of Ireland to be Irish; Irish nationality law applies to the island, not the state, and the Good Friday Agreement guarantees everyone in Norther Ireland the right to identify and be accepted as Irish or British or both. His twitter account has a photo of him with an Irish tricolour; it previously said Irish in the intro until he left WWE and replaced the entire intro, hence the twitter link. I'm not sure why this is such a passionate area for you, but as I said, the talk page is the right place for putting forward a case why it should be removed. I'm sure we both want what's best for the article. Thanks.

PS: His Instagram might be a worthwhile source on this as he identifies himself as an "Irish pro wrestler" in his bio. https://www.instagram.com/damomackle/

Hi Bbx118, claiming that the dish is scottish, british, indian, bangladeshi etc has upset people in the past. We have no solid proof of who devised it, where. There's a section in the article that lists some of the many theories regarding its origin. Stating that it appeared in UK curry restaurants is hard to dispute, but claiming it for one specific nation is neither proved nor conducive to harmonious collaboration. Best wishes, Guffydrawers (talk)
Hello Bbx118, We just don't know if CTM originated in Scotland, which is why there is a large section in the article on theories of its provenance. Consensus is that a GB origin is extremely likely, but which side of the border is not proven. If such proof is available, please add it to the article. Regards Guffydrawers (talk)

Patrick Kielty

[edit]

Question. Why did you remove this note with the incorrect claim that it's erroneous? It is well referenced that Keilty identifies as both Irish and Northern Irish plus a bit of British. Why would we cherry pick and declare him to be a single national identity when he hasn't declared he considers himself that. At no point has he said "I'm Irish and not the other things". As you know, people from Northern Ireland can choose how they wish to identify and he's chosen Irish and Northern Irish with a bit of British. Irish Football Association

[edit]

Hi Bbx118. Could you provide a source for the Irish name you added to Irish Football Association? As far as I can tell, that is actually the name of the Football Association of Ireland only. chi (talk) 17:59, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yup I've reverted it as sources suggest the exact same thing. Irish names must be referenced and must be in use. No evidence this is used for the original organisation and current one in Northern Ireland. Canterbury Tail talk 13:59, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
