Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Dubai -2007-05-24- (JPEG).JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Dubai -2007-05-24- (JPEG).JPG is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Dubai -2007-05-24- (JPEG).JPG itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:51, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sean Jasso requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 17:31, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Sean Jasso, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sean Jasso. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Nancy talk 17:39, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just to explain what this means. As you know from previous messages the article was nominated for "Speedy deletion". As the reviewing admin I declined the request for speedy deletion because some assertion of notability was made however in my opinion it is questionable whether this is enough to pass WP:BIO so I have opened a discussion, link above, which will last for the next 7 days. Kind regards, Nancy talk 17:43, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Sean Jasso 2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Solar eclipse

[edit]

I removed your addition to Solar eclipse because it misleading states that a telescope's magnification causes a problem. In fact it is the concentration of heat and light which fries eyeballs, not magnification. Thank you for your efforts, especially in combating vandalism. —EncMstr (talk) 19:58, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. You are right that it was misleading. The concentration of electromagnetic energy produced by the optics is the source of danger. And this concentration appears in the form of a magnified image. Thank you for the correction.

BDS2006 (talk) 21:01, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for fixing it and adding a really nice citation. —EncMstr (talk) 21:12, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oakland photo

[edit]

I trust you will honor the consensus of the other editors that the original photo is better. Meanwhile, perhaps we can be searching for an even better one. Apostle12 (talk) 22:17, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture at 199 Eddy Street in San Fran

[edit]

Hi there! I've been working on the page Zero (Yeah Yeah Yeahs song) and the music video for the song takes place, at least in part, at 199 Eddy Street in San Fran. I'd really like to have a picture of the store, I know fans of the band would be really interested to see what the store looks like.

If you could get a picture that would be much, much appreciated. Thanks! /-\urelius |)ecimus What'sup, dog? 17:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. If I'm ever in that area I'll grab a photo. What is the name of the store?BDS2006 (talk) 01:09, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

I saw your comment at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sex_positions#Raunchy and thought it was so well worded I quoted you on my userpage. I hope you don't mind. If it's a problem, I'll remove it. :) OohBunnies! Leave a message :) 06:00, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, well thank you. I don't mind at all. In fact, I'm honored. BDS2006 (talk) 07:24, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Image sensor format may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Los Angeles Plays Itself

Per Wikipedia:External links:

Linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work casts a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as Scribd or YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates copyright.

If Thom Andersen was able to somehow clear the use of all the clips, and posted it online or authorized someone else to, linking to that would be fine. Trivialist (talk) 20:35, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's exactly what I was looking for. This matter is settled. BDS2006 (talk) 20:38, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Abu Dhabi Corniche Skyline.jpg

[edit]

Hello there. Please could you clarify whether File:Abu Dhabi Corniche Skyline.jpg is Abu Dhabi or Sharjah. The file description says "Sharjah, UAE" and some of the other projects that use this file seem to think it is Sharjah. Either the name is wrong or the description. Green Giant supports NonFreeWiki (talk) 17:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad someone noticed this discrepancy. If you visit the original upload log you'll see that the original file name (dated 2008-05-14) was "Sharjah Corniche Skyline.jpg"
Apparently someone re-uploaded the image on 11 March 2009 and mistakenly titled it "Abu Dhabi Corniche Skyline.jpg"
The image certainly depicts Sharjah, NOT Abu Dhabi. Thanks for correcting this. --BDS2006 (talk) 20:59, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

UCSF project

[edit]

Hi! I am currently revamping the UCSF project. I created lots of pages and added a lot of content, but there is so much still to do. I saw that you are part of the SFBA task force, so I thought you might be interested and I wanted to invite you to collaborate once more. In particular, we need to add content, do maintenance, and we really would benefit from pictures, so if you are in SF and could help that would be great. Thanks!Eccekevin (talk) 15:08, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please review WP:BRD. When your Bold edit has been Reverted by another editor, the next step, if you continue to think the edit is necessary, is to Discuss it on the article talk page, not to re-revert it, which is the first step to edit warring, which is not allowed. During the discussion, the article remains in the status quo ante. Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:44, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I never restored my edit of the article's contents (which you reverted). I did, however, restore my citation needed tag, as it seemed to be a reasonable interim solution until a conclusion could be reached in the article talk page. Is it not proper to use "citation needed" after an unsourced POV sentence? BDS2006 (talk) 02:11, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:World Map (MENA)j.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned image, no context to determine possible future use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
