Hello, I'm Mdd4696. I've been a Wikipedian since October 6, 2005.

My Mediawiki wish list, in no particular order:

  • Structured discussion: It's a pain to archive discussion, and people do a bad job of formatting. Having structured threads and associated metadata would really make things easier.
  • Image renaming: I believe this is in the works.
  • Consistent links browsing (what links here, categories, file links, etc.): Currently the navigation systems suck. I think this is in the works.
  • Consistent wiki markup: The wikimarkup needs an overhaul. I think this is in the works.
  • Get rid of subst: We should have two namespaces for templates, one that always substs itself, and one that doesn't. Users of the template should not have to determine whether or not to subst it--the creators of it should.
  • Better integration with Commons: We're half way there, but you can't upload works to Commons from Wikipedia.
