The Nintendo NX is the name of the upcoming Console in development by Nintendo. It is the successor to the Wii U. It was announced on at a joint press conference with Japanese mobile gaming provider DeNA on 17 March 2015, held to announce a business alliance between the two companies. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata also announced "a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename 'NX'" from the company. The new system is expected to integrate with a membership service provided by Nintendo and DeNA, available across other gaming platforms, including Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, as well as smart devices, and PCs.[1] It is currently scheduled for release in March 2017
