Expulsion of Jews & Muslims circa 1492
[edit]Because Iberian Jews, and also Muslims, were expelled, forced to convert, or killed at the beginning of this so-called "Golden Age", this article should discuss how it was not "Golden" everybody. I'm no expert, but I'm sure that there a lot has been written about the simultaneous rise of the Inquisition and the artistic flourishing. It is well documented that many of the persecuted emigrated to parts of Latin America where the Inquisition was less influential; I surmise that sources also exist about artistic flourishing among these escapees to Latin America. - No, it doesn't seem golden for "everybody", but it definitely was for Spain. 47.4.30.23 (talk) 02:14, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- Okey, I don't wanna look like a jerk, but its called Golden Age because it was a revolution in the artistic ambit; not social, political or anything non-related to artistic currents. 88.5.24.153 (talk) 08:02, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
