Requested move

[edit]

The name of this product is MessagePad, not Apple MessagePad. The only reason that it would make sense to include the brand name would be if there were another product with the same name that it were important to distinguish from, which is not the case here. The article on the iBook is at iBook rather than Apple iBook. To me, it makes sense to remove the brand name from the article title. MessagePad currently redirects here. —INTRIGUEBLUE (talk|contribs) 12:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Simpsons

[edit]

How on earth is the simpsons movie appeance reference relevant to this article? Is this an encyclopedia or just a bag of trivia? 193.136.152.161 (talk) 17:51, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Normally I would cuncur and remove the trivia. Since there's an accompanying picture in an article lacking in that regard and since it is mentioned within a prose paragraph relevant to the article and not just a list inviting further trivia; I think it should stay. Newton

[edit]

Why is the MessagePad document not inside the Newton (platform) document? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwaisberg (talkcontribs) 09:04, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2000 vs 2100

[edit]

The specifications listed are the same for both the 2000 and the 2100. What, other than the number, is the difference? Bizzybody (talk) 06:27, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1MB vs 4MB of RAM. Apple had an upgrade program. The 2000 had the "inset" Apple logo, with the logo a painted piece of material shaped like an Apple and recessed. The 2100 had a flat circle with a surface-painted Apple logo on it. Apple had spun the Newton division off into Newton, Inc, and as I understand it, they machined out the Apple logo on the molds in anticipation of replacing the Apple logo with a Newton, Inc. logo. When Jobs pulled it back in, they had to do something and stuck a lame, flat logo in. There was also some extra silk-screening on them, I think "Newton Technology".
