I don't really think this is a good place for a handful of incomplete strategies for EU1, so I've cut them and placed them here. --Volrath50 02:48, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Europa Universalis

[edit]

Strategies:

  • Muscovy
    • You start off as one of the weaker nations, but manpower for your military is cheap and plentiful, and the Khanates of Kazan, Astrakhan, the Golden Horde, and Sibir to the south are very weak. Conquer them as soon as possible. As long as you concentrate on only one at a time, it shouldn't be too difficult. Once you start getting conquistadors and colonists (which starts during the reign of Ivan the Terrible), you can begin exploring and colonizing eastward across Siberia, towards the Pacific Ocean.
    • On the western front, you need to secure a seaport before you can start getting colonists, and the easiest target is Ingermanland on the Baltic Sea. Attack the Teutonic Order and take it from them as soon as you are strong enough. You can also obtain a seaport by defeating Georgia on the Black Sea, but they are not only a more formidable opponent, but also a fellow Orthodox nation, so you will pay a heavy diplomatic price if you attack them.
    • Cultivate military alliances with Denmark and Pskov. The former is a strong natural ally in the early years, and the latter can eventually be diplo-annexed and made a part of your realm.

This article is not about the Europa Unversalis series, it's about the video game, so it should contain information only about the video game. --MrStalker talk 12:47, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
