[edit]"Backcourt" links here, but the page doesn't mention or clarify the term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.170.241.126 (talk) 07:45, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
Whoever wrote the center part was very casual. "The 90's may be the last we have seen of the "Classic" Center - Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, and Shaquille O'Neal." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.30.156.127 (talk) 18:36, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Whoever wrote this up left out the section on the power forward, (the 4).
Who uses 'keyhole' as a descripter? Com'on... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.103.184.37 (talk) 03:57, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Why is there jabarjang gill on the list of centers? he isn't by any means a representative example of a center; and googling his name doesn't result in any official page. M.thoriyan 00:50, 5 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by M.thoriyan (talk • contribs)
- Is basketball played outside the NBA? Are any of the examples used from WNBA, or from basketball leagues outside the USA? Please consider using additional examples from outside the NBA - the article is Basketball position, not NBA position. --AJTH (talk) 09:45, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Fascinating! I never knew "shooting guards must have good ball-handling skills because they have to be able to create their own shots off the feces" I suppose I could correct that, but it just sounds soooo right. --76.110.169.122 (talk) 01:22, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Isn't Allen Iverson 1,83 mt. tall? If you redirect to his Wikipedia link, it says it's 183 or 6'0", and i'm pretty sure that information is correct. Should we change that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.22.170.94 (talk) 09:13, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
More example of notable players for other positions that shooting guard and center would not hurt. For newbies like me, it's much more helpful than a long description. --sorry_lazy_to_figure_out_what_my_wiki_ID_was, 9:02, 15 September 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.0.206.109 (talk) You should include more than just Dwayne Wade because there are more very skilled shooting guards then just him. If you look around the league there is a plethora such as Manu Ginobili who can create his own shot and also Andre Iguodala who has been to many teams around the league and has produced sufficient numbers at every team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coleballer (talk • contribs) 14:39, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
- Should generally try to avoid WP:EXAMPLEFARMs. Otherwise, every fan will want to add "their" player.—Bagumba (talk) 19:44, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

[edit]What a childish set of edits. Can't even capitalize correctly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.180.118.216 (talk) 22:23, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Why not use "they" instead of "he/she"? Would make the text way more readable in my opinion (English is not my mother tongue). --Jingin4 (talk) 14:17, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Changed. It's also unnecessarily binary-centric.—Bagumba (talk) 15:16, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

In the power forward and center chapter it would be correct to add that they are both referred to as "bigs" or "big men".

Centers usually scores "down low", or "in the paint" This should read " Centers usually score " 74.102.6.5 (talk) 15:30, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
is all this really necessary?
[edit]since each of the 5 positions are already linking to their own complete article, could we not argue that this page can be considered complete at the end of the first main section before the beginning of the section titled "Guard"?
all the sections starting with "Guard" and going down through "Center" have an overuse of commas and ALOT of redundant grammar usage. Many sentences contain extra words and questionable word placement. I am doing my best to remedy this, but i just noticed that each of these sections already has a complete page dedicated to it. it could be due to the authors apparent fondness for redundancy. id rather not go through them all doing my best to make them read better just to have them erased. however, im going to finish attempting to fix them and still recommend the be reviewed for possible deletion due to them obvious being redundant since there are already more well written pages for each of the subsequent sections linked toward the end of the 1st section. i hope this makes sense. im trying to help. Snarevox (talk) 16:09, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
meant to say "linked toward the end of the 1st paragraph" above not "section". Snarevox (talk) 16:10, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Small Forward
[edit]There is a sentence in this section that makes no sense. It says something like a small forward position player has to be a more of a shooting guard than a small forward. So the position of a small forward is to play more shooting guard than small forward? what? Also, there should be sections on guards, forwards and centers in general as well as a link to swingman somewhere in the page. Non-traditional position should be showcased and a link to offensive and defensive schemes (as they relate directly to the positions) should also be included. For a page that has been reviewed so many times, the current state is terrible. 2601:182:C80:3E10:6F10:B3FA:123B:CD78 (talk) 22:26, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
