Formatting for early rounds in particular; creating a cup season article standard in general

[edit]

Just out of curiosity, how about formatting the early proper rounds up until the quarterfinals with collapsible footballboxes (see below)?

8 November 2009 Gillingham 2–0 Southend United Priestfield Stadium
15:00 UTC Fry 45+1' (pen), 78' Attendance: 3,456
Referee: James Goodrule (Kingston-upon-Hull)
8 November 2009 Grimsby Town 1–3 Bath City Blundell Park
Conlon 57' Edwards 3', 48', 90+1' Referee: Martin Blowncall (London)
11 November 2009
replay
AFC Bournemouth 2–2 a.e.t.
(5–4 p)
Chesterfield Dean Court
19:30 UTC

Independent of this proposal, I would suggest to create a guideline for cup season articles (similar to those currently in the works for the league and club season articles) over Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Season article task force. If anybody has good ideas, be bold and share them. :-) --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 20:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Won't it be a bit space-consuming, especially around the 1st-4th rounds proper? At the moment it takes about a screen for each round. With around 40 ties, it could take 5 screens per round. I'm not against the expanded data thing but it may make this page monolithic - bigger even than the qualifying rounds page. Falastur2 Talk 21:26, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. And to be honest, those collapsible footballboxes don't save much space compared to the non-collapsible ones, except in the rare circumstance that more than three players score for either side. – PeeJay 22:58, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Got to agree with PeeJay on that point, too. Falastur2 Talk 00:53, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

new entrants in round querie

[edit]

The numbers of "new teams in this round" don't add up for two of the colums - the Prelimary round and the First qualifying round. If you add up the numbers of teams in the divisions that are in the "Leagues entering at this round" section, then it comes to higher than the claimed number of clubs entering - are those numbers wrong? 188.221.79.22 (talk) 21:26, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Teams in those leagues regularly opt out of the FA Cup, for financial, on-field or miscellaneous reasons. The column lists only the teams entered, not the total number of teams eligible. Falastur2 Talk 00:39, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

top scorers?

[edit]

Any reason for them not be included this year? I would do it myself but I don't have the time. This is information that a lot of people that come to this article are looking for. I was hoping it was up myself, personally. (Weather130 (talk) 20:29, 24 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]
