Dull began his career as a silent film director in the 1920. He initially used the nickname Bunny Dull for his very earliest films; thereafter, he began using either O.O. Dull or Orville Dull. However, he was best known for his films produced for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the 1940s as Orville O. Dull. Dull was nominated during the 6th Academy Awards for the short lived Best Assistant Director category.[1] He won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in the 1948 Oscars for the film The Secret Land.[2] He worked on over 40 films from 1925 to 1951.[3]
