[edit]A diminutive in -th, based on Proto-Albanian *wīja (“twisted, woven”), from *weh₁yos (“twisted”), ultimately from *weh₁y- (“to twist, to twine”). Cognate to Latin vīeō, Sanskrit वयति (váyati), Lithuanian výti, Proto-Slavic *viti.[1]
