English

Noun

[edit]

blindside flanker (plural blindside flankers)

  1. (rugby) a forward in rugby union, usually number 6, who binds to the scrum on the side closest to the side line.
    • 2015, Ann Waterhouse, Rugby Made Simple[1], Meyer & Meyer Verlag, →ISBN, page 23:
The position of the blindside flanker depends on the proximity of a touch line, so if the scrum takes place close to the left-hand touch line, the blindside flanker will be closest to that touch line.
