mendi
Appearance
Basque
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Basque *bendi.[1] Not related in any way to Latin mons, as this would have given *monde. It appears as the final element -pendi in the last name Auzpendi (modern Auzmendi) and as the initial element in the name Mendibil.
